This place is great. Not a bad seat in the house! I have enjoyed many plays here, but the one that stands out most is the Twilight Zone play where they reinacted 3 old school Rod Serling Twilight Zone episodes. They also have "pay what you can" which is great if you want to see the show but do not have much scratch on you. I always try to give as much as I can though because that is how they stay in business. I love the selection of fresh baked goods they have at the snack bar as well. I am so happy this place is local to me! Such a wonderful way to spend an evening out.
Review Source:The Hole in the Wall Theater is an amazing community theater. Â Not only does it put on good shows, it also actively encourages its patrons to become involved with the theater. Â I saw my first show here in 2001 and started volunteering in the beginning of 2002. After several years, I even got up on stage and acted.
The theater has all kinds of shows. Â Some of my favorites were: "1776", "Bat Boy: The Musical", "Lint!", "Barefoot in the Park"... The list goes on and on, I can't name them all. Â There are many regular volunteers who often produce and direct. Â Their talent and experience help even those new to acting to put on a good show.
At the very least, see a show here. Â If you like what you see, consider volunteering or becoming an active member at their general meetings. Â Volunteers can help with all sorts of projects. Â Help is needed with set construction, concessions at intermission, lighting and sound tech, etc. Â I knew nothing about theater lighting when I first volunteered, but they were happy to train me. Within a short time, I was running lights for their shows. Â If you're interested, you can check their website to see when their next audition or general meeting is being held.
The Hole in the Wall Theater is an awesome place to see real local theater and improv comedy. Â The staff are willing to help you get your show on their stage. Â They've been very good to the local improv scene, putting on shows by Sea Tea Improv, the CT Comedy Cage Match series, sketch comedy by Asylum Attic, Matt Sacculo, and Laughterhouse Five, and other shows for up-and-coming local comedians.
