Asian cuisine and American fast food.  Yeah, this place is more than a little weird (add a kid's game room and you've got some bizarre mixture of McDonald's and Kobe.)

With a sort of tacky "Hollywood" theme, the place has chicken tenders and burgers right next to Thai curry and fried rice.  It's got WTF written all over it, but I like that sort of thing.

I opted for yellow noodles in soup with pork, which was quite good. The reviews didn't speak well of some of the other offerings, but this first taste at least left the door open for another visit.

    Hooray for weird and tasty!

Should have known that any place that served curry and chicken tenders was a bad bet. The curry was completely flavorless; just tasted like hot watery broth. Sent it back (I never send food back) and got teriyaki chicken instead. It was about 7 pieces of rubbery chicken chunks literally floating in teriyaki. Dry and flavorless. My son's corndog was gray, and my wife's hibachi chicken was dry and rubbery. On a positive note, our server was amazing and despite horrible food made the experience at least somewhat enjoyable. We won't go back.

Weird. The food isn't special and the ambiance is whack. But, to reiterate Claire's post, it's worth trying just to experience the weirdness.

    Bring your kids, I guess.

    ... So weird.

This is such a strange restaurant that I can't resist doing a review. It's difficult to explain because the whole ambiance, menu, and setting is just so bizarre.

They have two menus in one, the Japanese menu, and the burger/grill menu, and there are about equal items on both. The first time I went I ordered a burger, or something like that, but every subsequent time I stuck with the Japanese. There's just something about all of the Western food on the menu that tastes weirdly Asian, and not in a good way.

However, the teriyaki and hibachi menus are completely passable and make a decent cheap lunch. If you've tried to get a cheap Japanese lunch in Nashville, you'll appreciate the price out in White House. They give you a huge amount of food and the vegetables are some of the best I've had anywhere. I believe that even a steak and shrimp combo won't cost more than about seven or eight dollars for lunch.

They are also trying to cover all their bases by selling ice cream, cheesecakes and pies, which, if I eat Japanese food, are the last things I can think about eating afterward.

The place is set up for kids, and they have an arcade and game room. Fortunately it's quite separated from the restaurant, so you can still eat in relative peace.

It's worth going just to see how such a place can survive somewhere like White House, TN. It's definitely quirky.
