Tourists beware !!!!!.No prices are posted because he charges locals one price and anyone he thinks might be a tourist atleast 50% more ( he pulls the prices out of the sky further adding insult). The food was of poor quality I will not return .
Went out to Hawaii State Farm Fair for food trucks. Food fail.
Hungry and dejected, I noticed a plain, small kine bus up white food truck on the side of the road. Can't get any worse then the fair, so I pulled over into a makeshift parking spot.
WINNING ALL OVER THE PLACE!
Best pasteles!
Good lau lau!
Good poke!
Coconuts that actually had more than a cup of water!
The truck menu is written in big black letters with no price. Be sure to ask. I got 3 lau laus for 10 bucks. 1 lb poke for $13 (you can ask for shoyu or spicy shoyu and he squirts it in and mixes it in the container). Coconut was $5.
Pretty standard prices BUT GOOD FOOD.
GOOD DEAL TO ME!
Pretty sure this place is cash only.
If I hanker for local food, I'd make the drive out there.
I told my mom I wanted pickled mangos and she told me to drive past valley of the temples and go to the food truck out there. Â I thought she was crazy!! Â However, located under the banyan tree across from the orange Hygenic store on saturdays and sundays there is an awesome food truck!! On the weekdays he said that he is in downtown honolulu on cooke street between the OHA building and the Kaiser building. He has a wide variety of island favorites such as: Â pastele, smoked meat, pickled mango, gondule rice, lau lau, poi, poke, pineapple and kulolo. Everything was well priced and the more you buy the better the price!! 3 lau lau for $10!! If you are on the windward side or can find him downtown you should check out this food truck! The owner is also super nice and fun to talk too! Â I gave him 5 stars for being one of the only places that consistently stocks fresh pickled mango!
