Don't bother going here for hookah on a busy night. Five friends and I payed $5 cover a head (including girls) before they informed us you need a table to get a hookah. Conveniently, all the tables were taken. They had no compassion and refused a refund.
I have been here in the past. They have new management, but they are no better than the last.
So I am originally from San Antonio and just moved to the CS area. We have a pretty good selection of hookah bars in SA and I have personally worked at one myself, and this place is run HORRIBLY. On a Tuesday night I had to wait too long for service, the shisha was good but the waitresses knew absolutely nothing about hookah. Also, they don't card which highlights how unprofessional they are. It is dirty, packed, and the music is way too loud. Hookah places are not supposed to be loud, they have to be lounge style. Hookah is a social thing to do, you can't socialize with loud music!
The fact that they have a club downstairs is a neat feature, but the place looks super trashy. Not classy at all, and the hookah girls are dressed trashy too.
I DO NOT recommend you go here, save it for a weekend you go to Houston. Don't waste your time.
I was helping my friend move in to his apartment this weekend and we were looking for a chill place to hang out. I'm used to the hookah bars in Houston which are above average compared to the other places. This place absolutely sucks...
We get there around midnight, and find a place to sit. The service was horrible! We were sitting around kind of looking to see when we would be helped. After a while we make eye contact with somebody who appears to work there (all the people are dressed in casual clothing, so you really can't tell who works there). He tells a waitress to come serve us.. she gets up from the booth behind us and leaves her hookah to serve us. She was really friendly, but not a good server.
The hookahs came after about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't that busy. One of the hookahs was working great, and the other was having some hose problems. I go to the counter and politely ask him if i could get a new hose. He looks at me as if made a ridiculous and absurd request and he fiddles with the hose and gives it right back to me. He said it should work fine. I tried, and again it failed. I ask a second time and still they are reluctant to switch the hose. Then i finally had to ask sternly and was given a new hose. And WALA! like magic the hookah worked.
They do make good shisha, when they aren't giving out faulty equipment.
The place is really small and I didn't like the scene. The music is extremely loud for the place and you can only talk to the person next to you. You are almost taken back to 3rd grade and feel like you have to play telephone just to talk to the person 3 seats down.
When we asked for the check, we literally waited about 20 minutes! We had to ask for the check a total of 3 times, because the staff was so involved with partying and hanging out with people they knew..
I would not recommend this place, but given that CS has no other hookah places, you don't really have a choice.
I know this is the ONLY place to go out and hookah in CS, but no matter how much I like hookah I can't bear to go back.
Pro's:
-they have hookah
Con's:
-it is a club atmoshphere (loud, crowded)
-uncomfortable.. they have a few booths and tables to set up at.
-the servers dress like hoochie's... but that is probably entirely beside the point..
-limited selection of shisha
if you are used to the lavish hookah lounges of DFW/Austin with cool vibes and all kinds of culture.. save your self the disappointment and smoke at home.
