I have eaten at various Hooters locations in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. So this location was the first one in California where I have eaten. My friend and I went there in Sept. 2010 for my birthday and it was on a Monday night during the NFL season. Plenty of other diners were there since the 49ers were on Monday night football on television. Our server took really good care of us and we ate hot wings with mozzarella cheese sticks for the appetizer. I also must say that over time the quality of the food has become so generic tasting. Though at least the prices are still reasonable! The place was busy for happy hour and we enjoyed the ambience too. This particular Hooters used to be the Spoons eatery back in 80's/90's until the chain went out of business and so Hooters corporation leased the space. There is a none of the old décor still there and the bar is in the same spot as the old Spoon's bar though the restrooms have been remodeled with the usual Hooters color and look. Plus the exterior is definitely Hooters so anyone who never ate there back in the day won't know that it was a different eatery. We enjoyed our experience that night and I would go back there the next time that I'm in the area. I grew up there and went to junior high, high school and college in the Campbell area and this entire area has really grown over time.
Review Source:Came by for some after dinner snacks the other night. They have a private parking lot in the back and upon entering, there was a slight bleach smell.
The highlight of the visit was some of the staff were talented!
The food itself was a huge miss! They do have happy hour for all of Monday.
The onion rings seemed flash fried from a pack of frozen onion rings...
The boneless wings weren't fresh, felt flash fried, and were way too salty.
The garlic fries took ~15 minutes to arrive and also wasn't fresh?!?
Pricing was $9/person after tax and tip.
I've never been to a Hooters before. I'm not sure why, just never stumbled into one I suppose.
I came here with one of my guy friends who frequents the place often. We sat at the bar, which I didn't mind. The Giants game was on a huge screen right in front of us. It was Sunday around 3:30, so it was pretty slow.
The waitress that started off with us was really nice and talkative. My friend ordered the tots appetizer. I'm not a fan of nacho cheese, but I decided to try them. OMG, I'm totally a fan now! Maybe not of nacho cheese on everything, but definitely on those tots.
We ordered regular food...he ordered wings and I ordered chicken strips. I just wanted them plain, no sauce, with ranch for dipping. They were pretty standard.
Overall, I see why people like this place. I mean, girls running around in booty shorts, wings, beer, sports on big screen tv's. Yeah, I'd be into that ish too if I was a dude.
Would I return on my own? Chances are, probably not. But if I had friends going, I wouldn't be opposed to it.
