For a town as small as Hilmar, this is a pretty good diner. It was definitely popular with the locals as it was jam-packed and it's one of those places that you pick your own seat. I was there with the grandparents and they recommended it.
So we picked a booth, I slid in and my midsection circulation was nearly cut off as they made these plush booths with wide tables that really don't allow for much comfort or I am turning into a fatty, either way it was no bueno. We were promptly given menus and our waitress showed up shortly after. She took our drink orders and then gave us some time to decide on what we wanted. It didn't take long for me to decide on a Tuna Melt with a side salad while the others went for different sandwiches. All of our orders came out fine except for my grandpa's which was a completely wrong sandwich and the cup of soup he ordered with it didn't come either rather fries were in it's place. He sent it back and was promptly given what he ordered.
In all the food was good, staff is friendly and I think I could go back there. Perhaps not a booth next time though.
