Came here for a Happy Hour meeting with a professional association. Ordered happy hour apps and drinks. Â Service was great; waiter was extremely accommodating and very attentive to us. I am always a big fan of the manager coming out to introduce himself and see that everything was OK as well. Â
If you are in the area and looking for a bite to eat, you can't go wrong here. Amply parking and space with great food!
Been here several times. The best thing about this place is the bar when its busy for the scene. I am not crazy about the food.
Apps - Most of the girls enjoy the chicken lettuce wraps but I don't think its so good.
Burger - Your standard burger that you would get here or fridays, there is nothing unique about it. Is it bad... no is it great... no.. Its not bad.
Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken - I remember way back when I used to get the blackened chicken alfredo at fridays and back then I liked it, but I was here and figured I haven had fettuccine alfredo in probably 8+ years.. So I got it here.. It was pretty bland and surprisingly the dish was really really small for a entree. I was disappointed
The only thing I noticed was that everyone was complaining the next day that they felt swollen from the food. Puffy... I don't think its salt b/c I can add salt to my food and not get puffy, but everyone seemed to look like we went out drinking hard liquor all night but we didn't get drinks...
If you have never been to a Houlihans, its a typical chain restaurant like fridays but slightly different. This location is clean and managed as well as it can be b/c it is a busy location.
So I went there for lunch yesterday and as soon as I walked in I was humiliated by the hostess. She looked at me with a blank stare as I walked in with a coworker. I said hi... she said nothing and just looked at me I said, 2 please?
She looked at me and SPOKE to her coworker (she said this outloud!) "OHHH HAHA, I thought she was here for a job or interview or something" (since I was wearing a white shirt..). Thanks elf looking hostess, for the hospitality.
Even though I wanted to leave I ate and my food was good but the service sucked.
Ahi tuna salad. Fish tacos. Spinach dip with lavosh.
All from Houlihan's and all yummy. I come here often and while I try to venture and try new food, I stay faithful to my fish tacos or ahi tuna salad, and with good reason. Last time I tried a buffalo chicken salad, I was sadly disappointed.
Only had dessert here once, and had the Caramel Nut Crunch Pie. It was pretty filling. Very rich. It had crushed Snickers in vanilla ice cream and a Oreo and peanut butter crust drizzled with fudge and caramel.
i came here for lunch today. it was pretty gross.
i had a veggie burger, it was a luke warm dr. praeger's on a brioche bun that was very greasy. the lettuce was sad and wilted. the tomato was a thick cut slab of mealy-grossness. the cheese tasted like melted, cold plastic.
my water tasted like broccoli.
now i feel extremely lethargic. i want to go in a quiet conference room and crawl in to one of the empty credenza's and go to bed for an hour.
two stars because:
1. i had some mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. they were the highlight on my lunch.
2. this shit was expensed = free
Use to have a Houlihan's in Boston in Fanueil Hall but that was closed a couple of years ago and replaced with a Houston's. Â This is a chain that typically serves pretty good food at a good value.
Came here for a baseball tournament in Flemington, NJ and couple of the families went here for dinner. Â Food was comparable compared to other Houlihan's. Â Good value, good quality and atmosphere for casual family dining.
The BBQ Salmon Salad is my favorite - Fire grilled Atlantic salmon fillet basted in BBQ sauce over chilled greens, mandarin oranges, spiced pecans, corn tortilla straws, jicama, red onions, peppers and sweet citrus vinaigrette.
Service has always been great and for a chain the food quality and consistency has been great as well.
Boyfriend and I went here for dinner after a lame target outing =P we've been to a few different houlihans on different occasions and I've found that the experience is always different.
Monday night at 9pm- dead. completely. I think I saw about 4 other tables eating. So why was our waitress sooooooo slow?
I think there was a good 10 minute gap in between our apps and entree, but that's alright, I was in good company.
We ordered the nachos as an app, and they were really good. There weren't a ton of empty chips, and the cheese and filling seemed to be placed throughout quite nicely. came with a side of sour cream, guac, and very watery salsa.
Boyfriend got the reuben and complained it was too neat "the best reubens should be messy" according to him. I got the chicken fajitas, and for a place that wasn't tex mex, they weren't bad.
Drinks were reasonably priced, and I had an okay blue silver margarita.
we'll probably go back, but we won't jump at the chance, it's a little out of the way, so if we are ever at target or one of those stores and want something to eat, and desperately don't want applebees we'll go there.
Great food, first off. Everything is flavorful and they put cool twists on traditional food. The service is off and on. If you have a server at a table, you're good, but if you're at the bar, you will have to wait a while to be recognized, and to order your food.
Definitely check Houlihans out, but keep in mind it is a bit pricey.
Once again, the food was awesome...but eat at a table, never the bar.
