Overall, not a bad restaurant.  It's not mind-blowingly fantastic, but neither horrible.

My boyfriend made reservations and we had to change to the next day, the associate on the phone was very helpful and understanding and was able to switch the days.  The location is a bit difficult to get in the turn-in to the restaurant because it's the right turn lane before the I-65 turn lane. It is connected to the Best Western Lafayette Executive Plaza & Conference Center, which I heard that if you stay at the hotel, a 10% off meal at Hour Time is included.

When we arrived, we were greeted warmly, checked in, and was immediately shown to our table.  We were seated right next to the atrium, next to the window shutters.  The decor was homely and warm, nothing to bright or accentuated. There was another level above us so we were placed on the half level. How the levels are set up are a bit funky but it add classy and its own personal style and decor.  The atmosphere is intimate but can be good for small groups.

Nancy, our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful.  The menu had appetizers, soups, which I've heard the Lobster Bisque is incredible, sandwiches, seafood, salads, and steaks. We both ordered off of the seafood portion and part of the seafood portion comes with soup or salad, and some form of a potato i.e. baked potato, french fries, sweet potato fries, etc.  Once we placed our orders, Nancy brought our freshly baked, I believe it was pumpernickel, bread with butter.

I was interested in the decor and the ability to open and close the shutters.  Down below was an open bar while we watched the Notre Dame vs. University of Pittsburgh. While the game was still going, triple overtime, Nancy brought out my Cesar salad and my boyfriend's Lobster Bisque. I tried some of his Lobster Bisque and I regret not getting a bowl of my own. The Lobster Bisque was warm, creamy and was topped with a flaky pop over.  The Lobster Bisque was the best part of the meal that night.

Once we finished with our appetizers, the main dishes arrived.  I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Almondine and he ordered the Tilapia Oscar.  I had 4 jumbo sized shrimps covered in almonds that was served with lettuce, grapes, a lemon wedge, two types of sauces, regular shrimp dipping sauce and a sweet mango-y, pineapple sauce.  I wasn't able to finish my entree due to the delicious appetizers but I took the shrimp home for next day's lunch.

Once we were finished, we were offered dessert but politely declined.  Nancy was a great help and wonderful waitress.  When we headed out, we were thanked and told goodnight. The staff was patient and kind.

Overall, I had a pretty good experience.  Hour Time is an intimate restaurant, great for dates or small private groups. The decor is homely and cute.  The parking lot isn't large nor a long walk to the door.

I would recommend Hour Time to friends and family.

Went here for a nice dinner but was not impressed. The decor is seriously outdated. Prime rib was pretty tasteless, which is sad because they charge so much for it. I don't know what the hype is about this place, it is mediocre at best. For these prices we will have our "special occasion" dinners elsewhere.
