HQ is a cool small bar in the middle of the Montbleu Casino. I went here because I didn't want to gamble anymore and was waiting for my girlfriend. It took me a while to get noticed. I asked the bartender to make me a Tahoe blue bomb. He had no idea what I was talking about, then he couldn't find the Tahoe blue vodka for the drink. So I went with the Vitamin C instead. Three simple ingredients: red bull, orange juice, and stoli oranj. Very good drink. Didn't even taste like I was consuming alcohol. With such a small glass I had a serious buzz going though. I wish the bartender knew more about what he was serving but other then that, very cool place.
Review Source:came to tahoefor a friends wedding.. we hung out here the night before the wedding, so the groom can get butt ass wasted for one last time as a single man! haha. unfortunately the drinks here are pricey... not vegas pricey. just more than i would like to pay =P... so we would run downstairs to the other bar and take shots of dollar patron and sip dollar coronas. and run back upstairs and chill here. its comfy, plenty of room to sit for those in 5 inch heels, and for those that want to stand and mingle...
and since its in the center of the casino, u can run out and throw a 5 on black, win!! and get 10 shots of patron!!!
woot woot!!!! =]
I often find myself at HQ during the lull time of waiting to go to Opal. It's always a good starting point and meeting spot at the casinos.
I like the deco of this spot, feels modern with a splash of swanky. The circular shape makes it easy to flow around the bar. The little seating areas surrounding the bar are comfy. I like that they play good top 40s hits with music videos.
The bartenders are decent, not the friendliest, but they do their job. Prices are reasonable for the most. If you're not here on the weekends, its still a chill spot.
I heart this place. Now that I live here, this is usually where we end up and where I take people from out of town. Yes, some nights are lame and no one is there. I mean it is a small mountain town. You really can't expect too much. But I have been here a plethora of times now and always have a blast. It is great to grab a quick drink with someone and catch up, a place to start the night and/or end it. Plus it fills my need for dressing up and getting drinks in a lounge type atmoshpere. And the drinks are cheap.
Review Source:This is a bar with video poker, and I thoguht, as I usually do with the video poker bar tables, that drinks were comp'ed if you were gambling. NOT HERE!!! Just be warned before stopping in! A beer was $1.50 and the vodka/red bull was $3, so its till cheap, but when anywhere else in the casino is FREE, this still adds up.
Review Source:Nice, cozy, little place to get some pre-drinking on. Met up with some folks here, took advantage of the inexpensive drinks before boogieing it over to Opal to shake our asses.
I can be kind of difficult to seating around the bar, but we didn't have a hard time finding seating around the wall area. There is a giant fire pit in the middle where the bartenders are located, but I don't know how they handle the heat 'cause I was burning up and I'm a good 20' feet from that thing!
If you have allergies, the cigarette smoke might bother you since you're in the main level of the casino area, but if you drink enough, it'll bother you less and less. =P
This place was A-OK by me.
I only went here for a short period of time but it sucked. Â The drinks tasted like crap and the bartenders were slow. Â Not to mention it's basically just a circle bar in the middle of the casino. Â It's not big enough to dance in or barely even move in. Â With all of the places to go in South Lake, I wouldn't recommend coming here.
Review Source:This place is fine....
Its located right off the main casino floor..
They have cheap drinks and lots of specials... I think its called a 24/7 happy hour..
However, different bartenders offer different drinks..
The guy bartender was solid but the woman bartender used well vodka for our drinks when we ordered Grey goose...
That's not a big deal but still annoying..
The bar is located in the middle of the casino but had a nice ambience to take you away from the casino feeling. We went here on a Monday night before Blu opened. It was an older crowd (we were the only ones under 30) and the seats at the bar were all occupied with people playing on the slot machines. Bartenders were nice, plenty of seating around the wall which allowed our group to easily socialize.
Prices were great (almost everything was under $5) If you like girlie, fruity drinks, try the bacardi strawberry lemonade and the sweetie.
Known as "Headquarters" to the locals, this lounge is located in Montbleu's Casino. The place is small and can be very intimate. The bar encircles the bartenders and a fire pit. At each bar spot, there is a slot machine (a great way for you to spend more money while you're already getting drunk!) The seats are not very modern and you just sink into them as soon as you sit down. Cozy furniture (nicer than the ones at the bar) line up against the wall and can make you and your company feel like you're the only ones there. The drinks are so-so considering they are decently priced ($9 martinis, $6 well drinks). Guys there are sleazy and the bartenders are not cute. Maybe after a few drinks that can change
