  Owned by the family of Dat Nguyen of Dallas Cowboy fame, we used to drive to Rockport to eat at the original Hu-Dat before they opened the location here in Ingleside. We were here opening day when Dat was on hand to sign autographs and have seen him here a time or two since.
  
  In the land of Mexican and barbecue restaurants of which South Texas is famous, what will it tell you if I say this is my favorite restaurant in all of San Patricio County? That this place is supremely awesome?
  
  I have probably tried everything on the menu at some point but I keep coming back to the Bun Thit Nuong served with nuoc mam and egg rolls. I get the bun with chargrilled, marinated beef strips and 3 large Gulf shrimp which are another food this area is famous for. The ingredients are so fresh and tasty that I just can't get enough of it.

  The ingleside location is possibly the worst food of any kind I have ever eaten .  I will never go back even if its free.

  Sweet Mary, mother of God, I love this place. While I can't really say much about all the stuff on the menu, the chicken fried rice is the best I've ever had. Actually, for at least 4 years, it's the only thing I've had there. Now I know that may seem like the most Gringo dish to pick, but hey... it's really good. And I'm not comparing it to Mao Tao or any of the other mediocre-to-horrible Asian food places in Corpus. It's great compared to anything I've ever had anywhere. And if you do manage to find something you aren't crazy about, you can always douse it in Sriracha sauce.
  
  Hu-Dat, combined with the City Tortilla Factory are reason enough to visit Ingleside. Plus, if you have family there, you can always pretend like you're there to visit them.
