Modest little roadside taqueria. Probably the closest you'll find to authentic Mexican food for many a mile. They have a sister Taqueria nearby, I'll list it later also. I've had the tostada and quesadilla, but there's the usual choice plus some I've never heard of before, but will try on my next visit. Take out or sit and relax. Cheap as heck, we fed two adults and two kids for under $20.00. It's not fast food, but they sure are fast. Salsa bar with fresh salsa. There's a great produce store across the street by the way, a nice alternative to the local megas, Safeway and Fred Meyer.

Excellent take out food!  We spend a lot of time at the Oregon Coast for outdoor activities and camping, and if we are driving thru Tillamook, we always stop at Huichol on the way in or the way home.  This is a permanent "taco truck" with authentic, excellent Mexican food.

Huichol is just off highway 6 right before you enter the city of Tillamook, and it is quite popular with the locals and the guys who work at the dairies.  How can that not be a good review?

Everything we have tried has been excellent.  My favorite are the chicken tostadas....a crispy corn tortilla with a thin layer of homemade pinto beans, topped with amazing stewed chicken (there are other meat options too!), red sauce, lettuce, onion, radish, queso, avocado, tomato and sour cream.  They are seriously delicious, and a meal in themselves.

The soft tacos are also fabulous, as are the quesadillas and sopas.  Menudo is offered on schedule, and although I do not eat it, my husband says it is the best he has tasted.

This is a quick take out permanent trailer, but if you want to eat there they do have some picnic tables.  I whole heartedly recommend this small family run business with excellent food and friendly service.  We had dinner there on our way into town this weekend and lunch on our way out.  Cannot wait to go back for their delicious, simple food.

Huichol Taqueria is a new Mexican taco truck in town.  Mrs. K. informed me of this while she was at the Mexican market across the street (review to follow at some later date).  The location is the exact same place as where Hawaiian BBQ used to be (it's now closed).

Trivia fact/learning moment of the day:  "Huichol" are an indigenous ethnic group of western central Mexico, living in the Sierra Madre Occidental range in the Mexican states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Durango (north-northwest of Guadalajara). Thanks, wikipedia!

I got the carne asada burrito (yes, I'm a creature of habit).  I got a steak empanada for Mrs. K.  They have a tray of various salsas (I'm a fiend for guacamole salsa), along with pickled onions.  (see picture)  The staff is friendly and appears to be (as most taco trucks seem to be) family operated.

My burrito was solid.  A little too much inedible bits of the meat in my burrito, but still good.  Mrs. K. says she was very happy with her empanada.  It certainly looked good.

Would definitely go here again.  I still think I prefer La Providensia Taqueria, but I also recognize that Huichol is still polishing its act and can only assume it will get better with experience.
