Every time we are in the Outer Banks, Mo's is a must! I look forward to going to Mo's every time I'm in the Outer Banks. We go a few times a year and I remember the first time we went to Mo's. We saw it and figured we wanted to have a beer, watch the NASCAR race and have a bite to eat. The staff was fantastic and treated us as though they had known us for years. They told us about the $.25 cent wings. ,$.10 shrimp specials they have every day from 3-5. During the off-season, it's 3-6. Hand's down they have the BEST wings I've ever had. I crave Hurricane Mo's wings often and wish I lived closer and could go more often. The shrimp is really good too. I love the atmosphere, food and everything about the place. Best place to go to in the Outer Banks. If you are wondering where to go to have a good time, great food and excellent service, this is the place!

We go to Moes every year!  I LOVE IT!  They have the best crispy wings that aren't those huge drumsticks.  I always get soup of the day and thir seafood soup is amazing.  I've had both burgers and pappersorn tuna here and I have loved every bite!  Plus they make a ROCKIN Bloody Mary.  WHOO HOO. My husband wants to go everyday!

We always sit outside and the view of the sound is amazing.  it's just a nice place to sit and enjoy yourself...Get the wings...TRUST ME!

Sorry ya'll but my friends and I had a pretty bad experience here. The service was horrible, in a pretty empty restaurant it took 10 minutes to be greeted at the table. Our waitress paid plenty of attention to the table next to us, and then tossed our plates on the table & barely checked in with us. She seemed put out when we asked for straws. The food was average but plates & glasses were dirty. And we were charged for food we didn't get. Bla.

We spent 6 nights on the outer banks.  We ate at Mo's twice. The first time was so good, we chose to eat here on our last night as the place we wanted to remember most.  The seafood Virginia pasta was by far our favorite.  My fiancée ordered it both times.  The broiled seafood platter was okay, I've had better.  The peppercorn tuna though, was excellent.  The sides were very good.  The coconut rice is subtle and exceptional.  We tried the Cajun tuna bites on second trip-worth getting but very filling.  The bread is different-homemade, sweet, soft and served warm with a delicious butter - it comes with the meal and is very good.  Now, I'm normally suspicious of pies at places like this, but everything else was so good I trusted the reviews and went for the key lime pie-it was some of the best I've ever had - light, creamy, white and delicious.  The bartender says Mo makes it herself and she is very particular about the quality.  I believe her - it shows in the finished product.  My fiancée had the chocolate peanut butter pie - also very good.

In short, highly recommended.  Get the Seafood Virginia and the Key Lime pie, but definitely don't skip it.

Best place for Happy Hour! You can't beat 10 cent shrimp and 25 cent wings. We visit duck every year and go to Mo's at least 5 times during the week.

Im giving this place 5 stars because of the cats that entertained us outside our window for two hours while we drank beer and gorged on shrimp & wings.  One complaint/suggestion though - happy hour is supposed to be about drink specials.  Try one week making up a batch of planters punch, hurricansor mojito's and sell for $$2 or $3 and see how fast they go.   Use the cheap rail liqour and you'll make a profit .   The $3 Coronna deal sucks , they should give that stuff away.   Had a great time here and had perfect service and enjoyed the cats.

Went with 4 friends for the happy hour which was 10 cent shrimp, 25 cent wings.  The food came out quick and was awesome.  We ordered 200 shrimp and 100 wings. and PBR's  The shrimp was seasoned and tasted delicious.  The wings were also great.  It is a really fun atmosphere and if you ever spend any time in the Outer Banks you must go to Hurricane Mo's!

This place is great. We went with a 3 month old and they were extremely accommodating. In top of that, the food is really good, especially the salad dressing, all of which is home made.

When I went to Hurricane Mo's, I was greeted by the host and seated promptly.  I had a very friendly waitress and they have Robert Mondovi wines as their house wine and they are really good.  I ordered the crab cakes which were tasty along with a baked potato and vegetables that were really fresh.  Their chocolate peanut butter pie is a must try.  I wish I could give it five stars, but I felt that it only earned four stars and I will tell you why.

I was seated by myself because I was traveling alone.  They said that the entree came with fresh bread.  Well, I noticed that tables around me got bread, but none came to me.  When I asked about it, the waitress said, "we only give bread to tables with two or more entrees."  She did bring me bread, only because I asked, otherwise I would have given even less stars.  The point it, I feel that's they are penalizing people who dine alone for whatever reason and only give fresh bread to those who have parties of two or more.  If they are going to do that, then they need to indicate that on their menu, but I really think that's discriminating against those who may come have dinner by themselves, such as business people who travel alone and may dine there.

I probably will go there again because I do like the food and was treated decent when I was there, but I don't think it's fair that they bring bread to you as long as you are a party of two or more.  They need to learn to treat customers the same, whether they are a party of one or a party of ten.

They make very yummy she crab soup!  I opted for  the bowl over the cup and couldn't finish it all because it's so chock full of crab and veggies.  The dining area was quaint and quiet since it was in the afternoon.

Great!! From the greeting at the front door to the service and the meal everything was fantastic!  Fried shrimp was the best I have had so far and the sticky rice was so good!  The seafood platter was excellent!  Want a great meal then Hurricane Mo's is the place!

Really enjoyed the food.  Tasty fried shrimp goodness.  The habanero mayo was delish and I wish I could have brought some home.  Will be back.  Only minor gripe, restaurant can be VERY cold.

    OK, here goes nothing.

I LOVED Hurricane Mo's.  And my love for Mo's is different than my love for Tortuga's Lie.

Hurricane Mo's has some of the BEST STAFF ON THE BEACH.  Dawn at the front door is beyond sweet.  She helped me select the perfect t-shirt for friends, we chatted about the area.  She gleamed with pride about the OBX, what a classy lady.

The bartender Jane was awesomely friendly too. She recommended we wait the 25 minutes for happy hour for the 10 cent shrimp, 25 cent wings and dollar tacos.  We were not hungry so we went for the shrimp.  Happy hour daily from 3-5, best deal on the beach. Family friendly, fun vibe, this place was older but spotlessly clean.  Even the fans over the bar were dust free.

This was yet another horseshoe shaped bar (love) and the walls were lined with wood which gives it an authentic beach feel.  The ceiling is nuts.  Its basically a mural and the artist deserves kudos, its amazing.

The other bartender with long hair was amazingly funny too and I did not get her name.  At one point this dude sat down next to me and I overheard her ask him if he was the Yelper......he said no.  So she recognizes us from a previous day and asks whats up.  (everyone is so friendly) I say hey I'm a Yelper and I can't wait to get back to my desk on Monday to Yelp.....her response; a classic "shut up".  Hahahaaaaaaaaaa.

We went for lunch that day and I had the flounder for 7.99 and my man had delicious She-crab soup, wow.  My fish was good but I did notice a Sysco bottle of ketchup which caused me to pause and think about how much I hate Sysco but whatever.

Over all fun spot right off the beach on Kitty Hawk Street.

From year to year the food is consistently great.  I had the cajun tuna bites and she crab soup, both were tasty.  Very fresh and very flavorful.  Service is wonderful also.  I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went out for my birthday. Had yummy frozen margaritas here, the best she crab soup ever, and delicious hand battered shrimp!! The homemade ranch and blue cheese dressings were one of a kind. Ended with a slice of homemade hummingbird cake!!! Will come back here.

Food and service were decent. Food came out pretty quick.... Definitely more of a restaurant then a bar., closed at like 9/9:30p on a Saturday night...

Onion rings and calamari were nice and crispy... the seafood combo platter was okay, not much flavor though and the steamed veggies weren't steamed from fresh veggies which was disappointing for the price you paid...

Good amount of parking spaces in the lot and the ceiling/wall painting was beautiful! :)

Overall, its an okay American food restaurant... but there are plenty of other places to try in the area...

Great food, great service, great atmosphere - perfect place for a great dinner at the beach. Relaxed dining (we were there in shorts, t-shirts and sneakers) paired with excellent food. Fresh salads, delicious sea food and great service.

Just wanted to add my two cents - (I'd like to give 4 1/2 stars, but since I can't...)

We were on vacation and looking for lunch after a movie on a rainy day.  As usual, I turned to my trusty Yelp app to find a good spot.  Hurricane Mo's got high marks, so off we went.
We were not disappointed!  It is a small place, but the atmosphere is beachy and fun - just what we were looking for.  They had a good kid's menu, and my daughter loved her popcorn shrimp.  We splurged for the special drink that comes with a lei and silly glasses, and she was in heaven.
The server was accommodating about making sure my meal could be made gluten free - and my Mahi was cooked well with good flavor.  I loved the sweet coconut rice.  My hurricane cocktail could have been a little stronger, but it was still tasty.
What we really loved was the spiced shrimp.  I never made it back during that vacation, but I kept wanting to go back just for a big plate of shrimp.  It was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
On a trip with some disappointing restaurant experiences, this one really hit the spot.  We will definitely be back next time we're in the OBX.

I am not sure if this place doesn't have air conditioning at all or it was just broken the day we went but it was extremely hot.  We did not have good service at all in order to keep up on our drinks for us to remain cool.  The place is small so even though the place was full you should have been able to see the waitress on the floor and we had no idea where she went.  People that were seated after us that had the same size party (6) got their food way before us.  I don't think we will be returning on our next vacation.

Went to Hurricane Mo's for lunch.  Walked in and was seated right away.  The place was pretty busy with only a couple of open tables.  Menu was pretty diverse, and I ordered the popcorn shrimp basket.

Service was a bit spotty at times, but overall not too bad.  The food was hot and tasted fresh when served.

Overall above average and would return.

My family and I visit the Outer Banks each year for a one week vacation. We have been staying in Kitty Hawk for the past three years and are just now discovering Hurricane Mo's. I haven't had any of the food as we just went there a few times for drinks. The drinks are very good and the staff is extremely friendly. We will definitely be visiting this place at least once or twice from now on!

Awesome happy hour!!!!  10 cent shrimp, 25 cent wings and $1.00 tacos.  GREAT service.  The cooks are pretty fast as the wait isn't bad at all.

Five stars is strictly for their 10 cent shrimp happy hour.  Just an outrageously good deal.  The first time I ever went there I fully expected this deal to be to good to be true and that the shrimp would be mealy and/or super small and overall just not that good.  I was wrong, they are very good and it's almost unbelievable that they are a dime each.

I cannot speak on their regular menu as I have never been there for anything other than the HH.  Which by the way also includes 25 cent wings and $1 tacos.  Skip those and get the shrimp.

Mo good times than anyone deserves to have. One member of our good times dining clan dreamed about the fish tacos for an entire year. She was elated to enjoy them again this year. The steamed shrimp, lightly seasoned and some icy cold beer, were extraordinary. For good food and and a friendly atmosphere go to Mo's.

This family of four, including two skeptical teens, came away impressed.

We showed up around 6:30 in prime tourist season, but only waited five minutes in the tiny entryway before being seated. The staff was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly.

We considered $4.50 for a big, imported draft to be a very reasonable price.  The seafood options were fantastic, also reasonably priced, with ample servings.

And, LOL, yes Terry W., the GPS still sends you the wrong way on Kitty Hawk Road - it picks "West" for you -- so ignore your GPS turn toward the ocean coming off Coastal Highway.  (the Google Maps pin is also wrong).

We've been to five or six area restaurants over the years and Mo's is easily our new favorite.

Mo's was a great experience on all levels! My wife and I went here for their famous happy hour that began at 3pm. Although there are no happy hour drink specials there is daily drink specials. The Food that was on sale for happy hour was cooked perfectly. The food specials were .10 steamed shrimp, .25 hot wings, and $1.00 tacos. We had shrimp and the wings. I personally really enjoyed the wings because I don't like really saucy wings.

Also about 6-7 good beers on tap, not necessarily the run of the mill bud or miller products. The service was also really fast and truly friendly. Definitely a place that I will stop back at for years to come.

Ok for a draft and happy hour shrimp and wings. Wings were not the greatest in my book. We got what we paid for and left with a smile for the experience. Doubt that I will need to revisit.

This place rocks! The food was very good, prices very affordable, and the service was super. This place gets packed early for the happy hour specials, but the staff really hussles and does a good job staying on top of everyhing. We tried the mahi & shrimp special, served w/your choice of 2 sides. It was fabulous - served with a tomato-sherry cream sauce. We were afraid the sauce might be too rich  - but it was not.   And, they are happy to serve the sauce on the side.   We also tried the cocomo mahi  and carribean jerk tuna... it was all very good. I was very glad we stopped in here!

OK, so the GPS gives you the wrong location. But you can not miss this place when in Kitty Hawk. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach. Excellent friendly service and good food to boot. You can not go wrong eating here. I heard they will be building an outside terrace soon.

I did not make the Happy Hour, but I hear the drink specials are The Best in the area.

As others have stated, their happy hour specials are great here.  I've also had their fried dolphin burger and that was really awesome.  The food is above average here and what really brings it up a notch are the home made sauces.  They make their own cocktail and jalapeno tarter sauce.  Warning though, both are fairly spicy for the crown that normal goes to this area.

Parking can be a little crowed at happy hour so go early or late.

I tried checking in while sitting in the place but it says I'm too far away. Obviously the map is way off but the address is correct. The food is worth the effort of finding it though. Just had the crab soup and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. The cocomo mahi was great too. The bad thing was that I found it on my last night here.

This is a great place to go for seafood or chicken wings. My family and I went her while on vacation because on Wednesdays they have 25cent wings, 10cent shrimp, and more for dinner during happy hour. its not a hard place to find and is very popular. From 3-5 on Wednesdays it gets really busy here so get there asap. The food is really good and there is plenty of it. They also have plenty to choose from for drinks. The service here was awesome, everyone was super nice and did everything they could to seat 11 of us, answer questions, and serve us food. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone because its a great place with awesome food and lots of fun.
