this was a great place years ago. i have gone back over the past few years and am always disappointed. the bartenders ignore you especially during happy hour. 2 of us came in recently and waited 15 minutes to be served in a near empty bar while the bartender read the news paper. every time you ask for a drink they act as if they are doing you a big favor. we just left because such bad service.
Review Source:It's a definite local hangout with a decently busy bar area even during weekdays in the off season. The first time we came here, we had great service by a friendly bartender. The bar area is large and easily can seat quite a number of people. Large TV's, pool tables, jukebox and pretty much everything you can expect to find in a tavern. It's a nice mixed crowd with all age groups but a very laid-back, friendly vibe.
The second time we came we were served by a surly, shorter bartender who has an obvious chip on his shoulder to everyone. He will look at your empty glass and purposely ignore you and take around 20 minutes to grudgingly come over even though he is not busy doing anything else. We ordered appetizers which were basically thrown down in front of us and then he walked away without a word.
Brushing off the our last experience, we came in again for a late snack and the same bartender was working again. Same surly and unpleasant service. This time, as we were eating a man came up with a 6-pack of beer he was intending to purchase. This poor guy was standing there next to us for about 10 full minutes as the guy saw him and deliberately walked away, started text messaging for awhile, then started cleaning the bottle tops out of the beer coolers. The guy looked at us and said "Is he doing this on purpose to to ignore me? Did I do something?" We told him apparently not since we and everyone else were getting the same kind of treatment. The guy wound up leaving the beer on the counter and just walking out. We also finished up and left there for the final time.
Hopefully, whomever owns or manages this establishment sees this account by people who were customers and will intentionally never go there again because of one employee. This guy is only a detriment to your business and must be costing you quite a bit in losses.

After being a customer for over 15 years at your establishment, I was not impressed with your new manager, Justin. Â Not only did it take me over ten minutes to get a drink, Billy was rude and unaccommodating. Â I was told I couldn't open a tab with a credit card due to the upcoming shift change at 6:00pm; however it was 5:00. Â Maybe Patty should think about retiring. Â Bad Attitude. Â Along with other regulars, I was unhappy how I was treated after spending thousands of dollars per year. Â Management and staff need a significant change. Â A smile and 'hello' would go a long way.
Went here last night to see my friend's brothers band, it was packed. I grew up in these parts and this never has been my favorite place and what happened next will continue that thought. Went to the bar to get a drink and some clueless doufus was behind the bar. He walked by me no less than 4 times ignoring me. When I finally got his attention he did not even give me my drink "tall" like I requested. A friend than joined me and had a similar situation, in fact I was standing right next to him while he ordered his drink, when I tried to order one as well the idiot turned away. Even when he came back with my friends change he completely ignored me, what the f**k. I was not pushy, obnoxious or anything remotely rude. I went around the other side of the bar to get a drink while I watched the DOUCHE*** pretty much do nothing but walk around being an idiot. I got the attention of Katrina which turned the situation around, she was AWESOME. All I could think of was that this moron splits tips with this bartender who deserved all of them. They should FIRE this sh*thead and hire someone who can walk and talk at the same time.
Management you should fire this incompetent slug as my friend and I observed him basically doing nothing but walking around and giving away free drinks the whole time, his name is Bobby and he is the overweight slug minus a brain that had inappropriate things to say about women.
With all the out of work people I am sure there is someone better out there. Sorry for the rant but I have not had such bad service in a long time
I have gone here a lot when I was younger and they had the best Reuben, French Onion Soup, Homemade Onion Rings and The Sligo. Â Its a sports bar with lots of tvs to view from but it also is a full service restaurant so you can bring the fam if sports aren't your partay.
The Sligo--I know your curious. Â It is fresh turkey served hot on rye bread, melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut and cranberry sauce. Â Its fantastic!!! Â Its really reasonable and I believe they have live music too.
