The answer to the nearly hopeless question: Where should we eat in Brigham?
One million times better than the MaddOx.
Pleasing food made on site, from the roast beef to the meatloaf to the soups.
    Go to item: French Dip.

Being hungry on I-84 and needing a place to eat soon, a search of Yelp showed us this cafe and several others and so decided to try Idle Isle.  I'm sure glad we did as the meatloaf lunch special with mashed potatoes, great beef gravy and the fabulous fluffy melt in your mouth dinner rolls made for a perfect lunch.  Did we have any room for dessert....no.  But knowing everything is made from scratch and homemade, I asked about the pie selection and was immediately curious about what was in the Idleberry pie.  Marionberries and blueberries....oh my...how can anyone pass that one up.  We got one slice with a big dollop of whipped cream on top to go.  Later in Orem at the motel we had our pie.  Good thing we were so far away as I wanted to go back and get 2 more slices.  Don't pass this place up.

This came highly recommended by someone we met from Brigham City. The food was ok. I had the chicken alfredo and it was about what I would expect. My husband had the Turkey Steak and it was almost inedible. The best thing about the restaurant was the homemade rolls. They were to die for.

Great place! My 10 year old sister chose to eat here for her birthday two years in a row. Their rolls are to die for. They are just like the rolls I was served for school lunch, big, flakey, and buttery. They also serve you fresh homemade peach jam to spread on the rolls. The food is also good. They have a large variety of good home style cookin. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very fun as well.

I always look for a taste of the towns I travel to with work.  Work brought me to Brigham City and I found Idle Isle Cafe.

I'm a fan of old architecture and design.  Idle Isle has phenomenal detail like dental and crown moulding; tin ceiling, old grandfather clock, old soda fountains, etc...  The booths were large old wooden booths that wrapped around the guets.  The architecture alone is worth the visit...

Had a great hamburger steak with tons of mushrooms, onions, and gravy.  Just like I like it!

Finished lunch with a chocolate malt and I had to be rolled out of the cafe!

Take a short trip off of I-15 and enjoy the Idle Isle!

We always made it a habit to stop in for lunch and a piece of candy when we were in Brigham City.  I am sad to say that last week will end this tradition.  The place is old and that is part of the charm, but the salad bar fixings shouldn't be.  The food is overpriced, the portions are small for the price too.  You could go to Bert's down the street and get a better hot beef for $3 less.  Service was not the best.  We waited for refills, we waited for a box, we waited for the check, we waited for the waitress to finish her lunch at the front bar.  I had the roast turkey with sage dressing.  I think the turkey had come from a can.  The potatoes were nice as was the tablespoon of dressing.  If you wanted a salad it was $3 more.  It did come with a roll. It was $10 as was my husband's club sandwich.  Good but not worth the price.  They no longer carry the candy selection they used to years ago.  They have small boxes of the Idle Isle candy but the place to be for candy is across the street.  I am sad to see a historical place like this turn into what it has.  It holds many memories for me and I am sure for others.  Menu items were lacking and very overpriced, especially for comfort food.  The prices left liking the food even less.  We could have gone to Peach City drive in and had a killer burger for a lot less.

This is an old restaurant that is a very solid part of Brigham City.  The service is ok and the food is ok as well.  I liked the restaurant better when the candyshop was also a part of the restaurant.  That is what was so great about going there was being able to choose your fabulous candy at the end of your meal.  Since it is now across the street I would say skip the food and go straight to the candy shop across the street.  That part of the company I would give 5 stars!

For those who have quite the sweet tooth, this is the place for you!

This place was like chocolate heaven when I walked in. I was in town visiting last weekend and I've had their chocolates before that were sent from family members, however, this was my first time stepping foot inside.

The woman running the cafe was very friendly, helpful, and let me try a few samples. Oh so tasty! From chocolate covered toffee balls, to coconuts, and caramel covered in tasty chocolate, this place has it all! They even have cakes, fudge, and all sorts of yummy desserts. This place has been around for quite some time from what I understand and now I understand why. If you are in Brigham, make sure to stop on in and grab a bag of goodies!

Listed in book "500 Things to Eat Before Its Too Late" for their Idleberry Pie. More on that in a minute. Delicious home cooked comfort food served by the plate or family style. I had a succulent pot roast with mash and veg and my daughter couldnt stop raving about the broiled salmon and french fries. Top it off with a real chocolate malt and a slice of the idleberry pie and it was a fine meal well worth the detour of of I-15 North.

    I would definitely stop again.

One of the oldest shops in town.  Great food.  They are a little on the pricey side.  They do have a small salad bar, but it is not worth it,  very few items, and most of the time it looks pretty old.  If you order a salad it is a bagged salad with a few extra items on top.  Most of their food is pretty good.  They do make some awesome candies, they separated their candy shop and it is located across the street.
