My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night. Â We stopped in earlier in the afternoon to make reservations, Â but were told they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more, Â but the girl there assured us that even when they're busy, Â the wait isn't too long. Â Â When we got there later in the evening, Â the place was full, Â but they managed to seat us fairly quickly. Â Â
We started with an appetizer of Bocanccini - mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto and topped with marinara and baked with bread crumbs. Â It was absolutely delicious. Â My only complaint with it was that there were only three small pieces which seemed like not a lot for the $9 price. Â
Our entree's came, Â and they were outstanding. Â My wife had salmon over linguine in a pesto cream sauce. Â The fish was cooked to perfection, Â and the sauce was great. Â The only problem, Â and this is really not much of a problem at all, Â is that the fish was so flaky that it didn't hold up to the heavier sauce and it was difficult to get a bite of it with the pasta. Â Â She certainly didn't mind.
I ordered the Veal Balsamico  with radicchio, onions, olives, goat cheese, and a balsamic sauce.   The veal just melted in my mouth.  the salty olives were nicely balanced by the sweet balsamic reduction. Â
The prices for the entrees were very reasonable, Â both under $20. Â Â The portion sizes were just enough, Â and seemed to shy away from the current trend of bringing you so much food that you couldn't possibly eat it all. Â
The one thing we noticed is that it was quite loud when the place was full. Â They only have about a dozen tables, Â plus seating at the bar. Â Â Once a few tables left later in the evening, Â it was fine.
The owner of Il Posto came to our table at least twice to check on us, Â and seemed genuinely appreciative to everyone for their business.
We will definitely return.
