This bar is amazing. We threw a bachelor party there and the bartender was amazing to us and we had a blast. So much better than all the other pretentious and expensive places in Hudson. However, I accidentally left my coat and scarf there. Thinking this a small town I was not worried. When I called the next day they didn't have it. Which means someone of the 6 people in that bar that night stole my coat and scarf. Lame!

If you like a place where the bartender tries to embarass people by grabbing a microphone and asking personal questions to customers, then this is the place for you.

It's trying to be like Ugly Coyote, with female bartenders that "interact" with the customers, a stripper pole on the bar, and a swing above the bar.  They also have a wheel you can spin to try and win drinks.

I ordered some sliders (cooked medium), and they were dry. Cheap prices on the beer. Other than that, it's just a bar.

Great hole in the wall.  Nice people.  Local flavor if you're sick of the yuppy restaurants and wine bars.  Prices are very very good.  I'm writing this as a guy who randomly stopped in to Hudson and walked around and found this place, slightly off the beaten path.  Gritty and full of personality.  I had a budweiser, as it seemed more appropriate, it was good and cold.

The passing of Paul Newman prompted me to write a review of my favorite bar in the world, the Iron Horse. Paul Newman filmed some pool scenes from Nobody's Fool in the bar in 1994. Frankie has some beautiful photos of the filming and great stories about the legendary Paul Newman. We had my brother's bachelor party here and I had my bachelor party here. Home of the coldest beer in Columbia County (lots of beers in 7oz splits). I would call it a dive bar, but the Iron Horse is really not that easy to define...they don't have food, they have a pool table, the crowd is very local, and they are more likely to be open at 10am than 10pm.

I loved this place when it was the State Grill and I love it now that the film crew is gone and the Iron Horse sign still remains.
