Iron Ridge Inn

I wish the salad bar had more greens, but the hot buffet is great.  Lots of meat:  prime rib, baked fish, fried chicken, beer battered fish.  When I go, I usually fill up on a lot of meat and don't eat much else.  Service is friendly.

This is a restaurant and motel.  The motel is fairly nice, has a pool and we have had some nice get-togethers here.   The food at the restaurant is another story.  
I am primarily reviewing this restaurant.  Which I would give 1 star.  We have been here for a number of different get-togethers and I dread having another.  We have never had a good meal here and recommend you look elsewhere.  Unless they have improved things recently as we have stopped going to this restaurant.  The buffet was lousy, the price per value was lousy, the service was lousy and the main entrees were dull and basic.  We have not been back in years.
To bring my criticism home I would like to share this brief story.
The last time I went out to eat with my in-laws was at this place.   We were looking forward to having a really happy time together and some good food.  Instead everyone was disappointed and we all left this place wishing we had gone elsewhere.  Unfortunately my in-laws died shortly after our stop here and there will be no "make up".  The story is over and the last get together was a great disappointment.
If only people realized how important a nice meal can mean to some families maybe they would take a little more care in providing good food and good service.  This includes treating your staff well.  It all comes together to either make a worthwhile establishment or a waste of time.
How we wish this place was better than it is.  The Inn and restaurant is a good thing for Iron Ridge and we really would like it to succeed.   Which it does because it is the only Inn/restaurant for miles that is halfway decent.   Sadly they don't aspire to anything more and thus the bar is low.
come on guys, people know what "good" and "great" mean.   Families may be having one of their few get-togethers as I described above.  Stop doing just enough and start making this place a really great place for the people in the area.
