This is really just standard greasy fast food. Their curly fries and burgers are OK but nothing special, and its really expensive for what you get, $9 for a mediocre, fast food style burger; that's just silly.

Not what it used to be. I ordered burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion.
All i got was a burger with cheese. I called but they didn't want to deliver new one.
After some discussion? they agreed to send me a new one if I return what I got.
Had to wait another 30 minutes, no sorry from them.
Last time ordering from Jacks

I used to like Jack's, until I finally got fed up. Go somewhere else.

The Pro's:
-Decent burgers, especially on wednesday's when they have their deal.
-Corn nuggets are pretty good, but I suggest going to the Nine's.

Cons:
-Delivery will take hours (I've gotten it maybe 10 times and it has pretty much never come in less than an hour) and your food will be gross and cold. Don't even bother getting fries.

-$10 credit card minimum now, which doesn't make the wednesday deal worth it unless you're paying cash. They're super strict about it too, my total was like $9.80 and I told them to charge me $.20 extra and they said they couldn't do it, they couldn't even take it as a tip. I had to buy mac and cheese for extra, which was disgusting.

-Carryout also takes forever, don't expect to be gone in less than 20 minutes or so.

If you're going to eat in on a wednesday and are paying cash, it's not too bad, but otherwise go somewhere else.

The Good: Food. Omelette, specifically cali omelette is pretty good, 4/5. Burgers, 4/5 as well, taking off one because sometimes they burn the burger or the burger falls apart entirely in your hands due to the bottom bun being soggy. Also their menu is gigantic and has everything: quesadillas, wings, burgers, breakfast. The only thing they dont sell it seems like is pizza.

The Bad: 10$ minimum to use credit card. yes this is absolutely ridiculous and a reason why they will lose a lot of my business and probably a lot of other people's business. Also everything in that store has a 50% markup if you are not going on "cheesesteak mondays where its 5$, or burger wednesdays where burgers are 5$". A regular day, expect to spend 9$ on a 7 in cheesesteak, or 8-9$ on a burger.

I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries to go for $7.01, including tax.

I came in around 5 pm and it took about 15 minutes for them to cook my food.

The burger: fairly small patty (same size as the kind you get in the dining hall), romaine lettuce, a strip of bacon, cheese and some mayonnaise. At least the bun was nice and fluffy and pretty tasty. Definitely not worth $4.99, though considering the burger options in Collegetown..

The fries: fairly thick french fries that were reminiscent of Burger King's fries. They tasted okay and a few of them were dark brown, but none of them were burnt. I suppose that they would've been crispy had I eaten inside, but I was in a hurry and besides, the dingy, poorly lit interior would've ruined my appetite.
If you absolutely NEED to have a burger, come to Jack's, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Jack's Grill is, in essence, a privately-owned fast food restaurant, serving burgers, fries, wings, sandwiches, cheesesteaks and hot dogs to the almost corporation-free Collegetown area. Yet, Jack's Grill misses the mark both in terms of speed and desirability.

The last time I ordered from Jack's, I had asked for delivery. An hour and a half (and two phone calls later), my order finally arrived.

Perhaps the driver got lost, took a nap, or simply forgot to make my delivery, because by the time I got my food, it was far from warm. I was too hungry to do anything about it, so I started eating anyway. My burger -- topped with caramelized onions, swiss and sauteed mushrooms -- was good enough, thanks to the toppings, to mask the bland mystery meat patty. Jack's, it seems, knows how to top a patty and make it taste passable.

My fries were another story altogether. They were so bad, despite the standard curly fry look--almost inedible. They tasted stale, like Arby's fries that had started to harden after three days in the open air, fried once more in a last-ditch attempt to sell them. Chewing these fries made my jaw hurt; I felt like even a mouthful of adolescent incisors couldn't make the process much easier. Pity.

This place is absolutely horrible! I ordered online for delivery and the food was nasty. The burger was soggy and limp with nothing on it but meat and cheese even though I ordered one of their so-called "loaded burgers". That thing cost me 7 bucks, but was worth about 7 cents... In addition I ordered sweet potato fries, which were way overpriced at 5 dollars and soggy. None of the food was worth eating, so my boyfriend and I just threw it out and are now making cookies for dinner. That's how bad.

Avoid Jack's Grill delivery. While their burgers are great at the store, the stuff that was delivered was truly awful. The burger was small and cold. Don't expect any extras in your burger, either. If you want anything on it, you have to type it directly in your order under delivery instructions. I received a small, cold patty with a slice of cheese and mushrooms and nothing else. I was extremely disappointed, as I really enjoyed their burgers at the store in the past. I will not order delivery again, though.

Not the best food or best burgers in Ithaca, but it's damn good. And, they deliver which is awesome. They have a big menu including burgers and many loaded versions, tons of side orders, wings, dinners, and breakfast all the time. Bottom line, great inexpensive comfort food delivered to your door.

I've been to Jack's a couple of times and I really wanted to like it.......but its not going to happen. Both times I have eaten there it was not very busy but the service seems to be quite slow.

I've now tried a burger (jack's loaded burger) and a chicken sandwich(Santa Fe Chicken.) They have both been very ordinary, the chicken being the worse of the 2. I ordered the chicken fried and it was so over cooked that the texture of the chicken took away from me tasting anything else that was on the sandwich. I also ordered fries and while you get a decent amount they are very bland no salt at all on them.

As far as the prices go it really isn't that great of a deal as others have stated.

There menu does have a lot of variety and it unlike any other place in Collegetown, but from my experience overall the food really isn't that great and the prices are a little high.

A cheap meat-and-potatoes place, in the form of huge burger patties and large portions of fries. It's not the cleanest place or food, but it's tasty enough and pretty cheap for Collegetown.

My family & I LOVE Jack's. We love the fact that my picky daughter can even find something that she likes on the very eclectic menu. We get delivery from them through http://campusfoods.com and the orders have always been prompt. VERY friendly owner/staff.

Sort of yum...

This place is pretty okay. It's nothing gourmet, but if you want some late night burgers or wings or fries, this place is pretty good. I think it's still owned by the people who ran Hong Kong (which is what this place was before it closed).

It's pretty good, but nothing special. I do think it was smart of the owners to make a restaurant with this genre of food since Collegetown is teeming with Asian restaurants and not much else.

There is seating inside, but since it's not a place with waiter service or anything, tables tend to be sticky so I'd take my food to go.

Overall, it's a pretty good place to eat. Burgers and sandwiches taste pretty great. The "Classic Burgers" are great if you're looking for something cheap and just as filling as the other items. Not that I'm an expert on Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, the ones here tasted great the last time I ordered it. Make sure you try the Cajun fries, cause they are the same price as the regular fries.

I have to say though, it's the slowest "fast food" restaurant I know of. Even when you're the only customer there, the simplest order of burger and fries will take at least 10 minutes. This only gets worse when there are people waiting ahead of you. I'm sure this depends on who is working there at a time, but they also have the tendency of getting your orders wrong when it's even a tad busy.

But all considered, it's a great place to eat on lunches and late nights. It might be a little slow, but food is usually worth it.

One of the few places in college town that is genuinely good. It is nearly five stars.

I highly recommend the bacon stuffed burger. Imagine that all the drippings that typically cook off of bacon are contained in a juicy fat pocket in the middle of the burger. This burger may directly contribute to you eventual quadruple bypass but its worth it.

The only negative i can think of is that it sometimes takes them a little long to get the food to you, but just like your slowly clogging arteries, the wait is worth it.
