After reading the reviews, i've noticed a lot of things.
1) TC people talk this place up
2) It's not that great of a place
I've been here many times, and I've had my share of good times and bad times. Unfortunately the bad outweigh the good. Yes, it's a cool place with an awesome game room (4 person Ms Pac Man?!) and I love it there in the summer when you can sit outside and enjoy a beer or 2. The best time is during Boat Races when they have live bands playing outside. That pretty much sums up the good.
The bad you ask? Meh food, meh service, and the prices are ok at best. You have to come back inside to order drinks if you sit outside because they always seem to forget about you. They do have a decent selection for beer.
I know I only gave it 2 stars, but I know I'll be back. Why? Because I usually get outvoted and I don't want to be left behind :)
We ventured in for a snack and beer and knew that one of the dozen or so televisions would be playing the UW/USC football game. We ordered the full size nachos which was more than enough for the three of us. I'd put these on par with nachos from Sharis; edible, filling, and Americanized. My iced tea was delightful and I received several refill offers. The place was busy, well staffed, and our server was pleasant.
The best part: upon walking in I was more than ready to be greeted by someone who would offer pizza shooters, shrimp poppers or extreme fajitas. You'll understand the sentiment and reference when you visit Jackson's (and if you've seen Office Space).
Had a bacon burger with Jackson seasoned fries. My friend had a basket if their wings with the buffalo hot level of sauce. My burger was rather boring but the fries I got were pretty good, to bad I only got about 5 of them. I guess the wings were decent but the hot sauce wasn't that hot.
Also, the food came out pretty quick but we waited forever for our bill. A waiter came by and took our baskets away but then we just waited with a clean table for what seemed forever.
Not a big fan of this place.  Service started out friendly, then started getting chippy as the mild and low-key party rolled on.  Food  is okay if not extremely overpriced.  I had the fried green beans, which were tasty and not remotely healthy.  Medium-small portion for $6 at happy hour (4-6pm M-F). I also had the garlic Parmesan fries which the menu led me to believe would be smothered in roasted garlic ($6).  I would say, rather that it was cooked in garlic oil and had some shredded parmesan on it.  Tasted okay, but I've been spoiled by the fares at Sounders games.  The joint does have a solid game room with three nice looking pinball machines (hard to come by around here) and a sweet 4 player pac-man tabletop.  So!  Go to game and drink, but bring the checkbook reserves if you plan on eating.
Review Source:(Note: I'm a little biased against this place because of insider info regarding the owner) However I got stuck going to a birthday party there. The service, the price, the food and the cleanliness were pretty much as expected.
My friends picked it because of the "all you can eat" chicken wings. The portions were small, the wait staff was completely understaffed (they save money that way?) and would show up maybe every half hour or so for refills of the all you can eat. (I guess they save the cost of the food that way? See a trend?) Cheesy. And when the wings did show up they were cold and tasted like they were frozen food that was microwaved. Nasty. And the bathroom? GROSS.
Actually, Jackson's exceeded my low expectations. And not in a good way.
When I first moved to the tri-cities the only ok wing place around was Jackson's. Â The wings were OK but nothing to write home about. Â The mexi-lime is the only flavor I would recommend to try. Â Its really the only descent place to eat wings, drink beer, and watch the game. Â However, every time i go to the location in Richland I get piss poor service. Â One time we waited 20 minutes for a draft beer and another time we went the waitress spilled beer on a guy at our booth and didn't even apologize she just shrugged and said she would get a cloth to clean it up. Â Another time we reserved a large table for a celebration party on a Wednesday evening, ordered appetizers and it took 45 minutes to get those out to us.
If you want good wings and good service make the trip to Kennewick and try Hot Wingz....its worth your time and money.
Come for the beer, stay for the...beer?
But really, they have a great beer selection, and their food isn't THAT bad. I think I just went in with super low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised.
We had a HUGE group and this was seriously the biggest moment of this waitress' life. Unfortunately she struggled and kept forgetting our orders, but honestly, whatever, since half the people forgot what they ordered, too. Yes, the beer was flowing.
And NOT to call her out, because she was really nice, but our waitress kept calling the women "Momma," which is interesting, and I'm sure it's meant in an endearing fashion, but my mid-20's wife wasn't sure what to make of it. It's like when a girl calls another girl her age "honey." I think? I'm not really sure. It was just goofy. Anyway...
I had the wings and as another reviewer mentioned, they were anorexic model wings, but they gave me more than I ordered (not sure if that was on purpose) and were definitely decent, so I was a happy camper.
Anyway, this is a solid choice if you're in the area, I think I'm just spoiled.
I wish I could give negative stars...
We have now been here 3 times. Â Because of the location and atmosphere, we wanted to keep giving it one more try, but everytime our service was really bad! Â The only consistent thing about this place has been that the food shows up cold everytime (although, I don't think it would have tasted any better warm), and service has been slow and rude. Â One of the times I asked our waitress for tarter sauce and she pretty much laughed at me.
This place is in a great location and really could be a great place to hang out, but gross food and horrible service...we will not be giving this place another chance!
Everyone I work with from the Tri-Cities talks up this place and I have to say I was disappointed.
1. Â We were basically ignored by our waitress. Â 20 minutes to order, even longer to get the check.
2. Â All those TVs, and yet we came there for college football on a Saturday, none of them played the game we wanted to see nor would they put it on.
3. The food was okay. Â The sweet potato fries were good, everything else seemed like a slightly better version of Quaker Steak and Lube or similar. Â Definitely am not writing home about it or suggesting it to anyone else that makes it out this direction.
I didn't notice anything special here and won't be coming back.
When we arrived in Eastern Washington last week, I mentioned to Gayle's Sister that I would like to find a cute artsy downtown area to hang out. Her immediate answer was - In Pasco? However, she did point out that there was a single art gallery in Richland that was next to Jackson's Sports Bar.
As Gayle's sister was crazy busy with her daughter's wedding details, we volunteered to pick up snacks for an informal post-rehearsal reception at their home. My sister-in-law is smart with her money and she managed quite a meal deal from Jackson's Sports Bar. Â A friendly employee quickly loaded us up and we were quickly on our way. The food was plentiful and delicious and definitely worth another shot either by catering or in person (after my art stroll of course).
Disappointing meal and the drinks were all ice. The prime rib sandwich that I ordered came with great season fries, a thin slice of dry meat on a dry plain roll (not grilled or toasted), no au jus, no horseradish sauce, nothing at all. When I asked for horseradish sauce and au jus I received straight horseradish and was charged extra for it. Never received au jus. Â If I ever go back I will stick to beer or wine (no ice required) and foods that are fried.
Review Source:This review is primarily about the food preparation. Â The atmosphere at Jackson's is exceptable.
We ate in the dining room on a friday night and ordered a variety of appetizers and main entrees.
My wife's salmon looked and tasted good (a bit sweet) but the meals seemed a little bit paultry. Â My Prime Rib was overcooked (I asked for medium and received medium well) and the Baked Potato was way too small. Â I have had good meals here before but over all it's just an ok eating experience. Â I suppose you might head here for the drinks as opposed to the food.
Jackson's is fun place to have breakfast & lunch. They have a good selection of handles re: micro beers. The side room is great to watch several NfL football games at the same time and interact with fellow fans. Jackson's offers more diversity of breakfast entrees as compared to Kimo's. I also like the build your own Bloody Mary that is located next to the bar. For lunch, the food is good Mid-West Fare. Bring your appetite and you won't be disappointed.
Review Source:I've been here several times to have a beer and watch a game and really had a great time with no complaints. BUT-I waited to write this review until I had ordered some food and actually had a chance to see what they were about. Unfortunately, they gave me a lot to critique them on during that one lunch visit.
I'll start with the service, the wait staff just seemed lost and couldn't service the four tables that were there for lunch. Come on, 4 tables 2 servers?? It took an hour at least for them to make 2 burgers and fries for us. Which came out completely cold! We would have sent the food back but lunch hr for work was over and didn't have time to complain. After eating I sat there waiting on the check for another 10 mins and finally had to get up and walk to the bar and just pay there.
This is still a good place for a beer but I won't eat here again...
Jacksons is one of the more popular sports bars in the tri-cities. Â I think that's simply because there aren't a whole lot of options. Â There are plenty of tv's but the sound only works on certain tv's which show the "more important" games, according to whoever is in charge.
The food is good. Â The waitstaff is hit or miss. Â I mean that very literally. Â Either you get a good waitress or you totally whiff out and get one that's really bad. Â The drinks are decent, moderately priced and poured well.
I enjoy coming here to watch the games on Sunday or Monday night with a group of friends. Â Other than that, I don't come here often. Â The only other places I recommend are Kimo's and Uncle Sam's.
The food is good and they often have fun events going on. Â My only concern is that the wait staff sometimes seems really tired. Â I'm more concerned for them than for me. Â Our waitress was very nice and the service was good but she just looked so run-down after a very long day. Â My heart goes out to all the people out there who work hard like she does.
Review Source:Who would have thought Id be reviewing a sports bar?? Well I am in the Tri-Cities, and when in Rome... Anyways its, ya know, a sports bar so they have the usual stuff, TV, pool etc etc. They have a solid beer selection (although the only stout is Guinness, boo) and a pretty wide assortment of liquors. One of the bartenders there is really funny and I guess this was a regular thing because I told someone else I went there and they asked if mister funnyman was there. Well yep! Sure was.
This place has a huge selection of chicken wings. Some of them are pretty damn good, some are so-so. I have to wonder though, wtf is with the chickens they use? I ordered 25 wings and was thinking there was no way Id eat that many. Well I did, ok? Because they must be pulling the wings off of anorexic chickens! I dunno, they were like the size of my thumb.
They have other stuff too, standard bar fare, however I don't trust it after reading the other reviews. Just say no to wonderbread and american cheese. Ill stick with the emaciated wings.
On a recent Labor Day holiday we needed a place to hang out for drinks. Â It was late and most places looked closed--so Jackson's it was. Â There weren't a whole heap of people there, but we had a good time. Â Ordered a pitcher of beer and the female of the group ordered some "girlie drinks" Â ;) Â
Managed to get a few games of foosball in and a couple rounds of drinks. Â All in all Jackson's was a nice place to hang for drinks.
Does two months later count as soon, Justin?
Anyway, they managed to screw up my order this time. Â After the last two times, I know to expect that I can get a terrible grilled cheese sammich (2 slices wonder bread, 1 slice American cheez product, possibly "grilled" with an iron) or deep fried appetizers (because even the salads are all covered in meat-y bits). Â *sigh* Â After I ordered and the waitress was walking away, one of my companions said "oh, so you changed your mind?" meaning that I ordered a food item, not that I had changed my mind and wanted to delete my order 10 seconds after I'd placed it. Â So I got nothing when the food was delivered. Â She did correct the mistake and comped my food, but still, WTF?
Aside from that little fiasco, the Mojito was pretty good. Â Nice 'n minty. Â Just don't expect to be impressed or even to have your order filled properly here. Â No free beer this time either.
This is a typical sports bar. Â What they expect you to order is bud and wings. Â Since that isn't what we ordered, or the type of place we wanted, our expectation weren't really met. Â If that is your thing, I think this place would be great.
We asked that the meat on our Super Nachos be on one half, we go lip from our waitress, but the meat was were we asked. Â One order got screwed up, and not comped. Â We did get a free beer because an extra was poured and we said we would take care of it (maybe she thought that was even). Â
Anyway, I know what to expect now, but I don't think I'll go back. Â Anytime soon.
