After a long 7 hour trip, I was starving. All the yelp reviews led me to Jaker's. Seriously a bit disappointed.
1. Why is all the food that comes out LUKE WARM!!! It wasn't just one entree, it was EVERYTHING.
2. Why was my prime rib floating in liquid? Why was it so hard to cut? There were tendons or something in it. I could only eat around it.
3. My husband's braised short rib tasted of alcohol. Yes, you use alcohol to cook it, but why was it so dry. It reminded me of balls of beef jerky. Another thing, shouldn't the alcohol have burned off?
Food was not what I expected. However, they do provide huge portions. So if you're about quantity over quality, GO HERE. If not, find yourself another place to eat. BTW-I did find the lime soda refreshing.
We were driving through Twin Falls on 5/27/2013 and were determined to find a place serving local trout.
I'm glad we did not pull up the Yelp reviews before coming here as we might have decided otherwise. Â I don't understand all the negative reviews here.
We had a very good meal and I would suggest that this place is fit for foodies.
I had the French onion soup which was prepared perfectly and very tasty. Â The crostini was still crunchy!
We always seek out local fare when on the road and were very happy with the menu here. Â We shared the local pan seared trout which was delicious. Â For a second course we had the Snake River Farms Kobe beef sirloin which was done perfectly medium rare. It was tender and wonderful.
They coursed our meal out nicely and they also had a good choice of wines by the glass.
We skipped dessert as it did not seem that they made anything in house.
We will definitely be stopping back here next time we drive through.
