We go here all the time when I'm in town to visit my Dad. Never disappoints, always tasty. Servers always efficient and friendly. Salad bar seems just ok. Burgers tasty, salads generous and fresh. Dad loves the clam chowder and lobster bisque.

After a long 7 hour trip, I was starving. All the yelp reviews led me to Jaker's. Seriously a bit disappointed.

    1. Why is all the food that comes out LUKE WARM!!! It wasn't just one entree, it was EVERYTHING.

    2. Why was my prime rib floating in liquid? Why was it so hard to cut? There were tendons or something in it. I could only eat around it.

    3. My husband's braised short rib tasted of alcohol. Yes, you use alcohol to cook it, but why was it so dry. It reminded me of balls of beef jerky. Another thing, shouldn't the alcohol have burned off?

Food was not what I expected. However, they do provide huge portions. So if you're about quantity over quality, GO HERE. If not, find yourself another place to eat. BTW-I did find the lime soda refreshing.

We were driving through Twin Falls on 5/27/2013 and were determined to find a place serving local trout.

I'm glad we did not pull up the Yelp reviews before coming here as we might have decided otherwise.  I don't understand all the negative reviews here.

We had a very good meal and I would suggest that this place is fit for foodies.

I had the French onion soup which was prepared perfectly and very tasty.  The crostini was still crunchy!

We always seek out local fare when on the road and were very happy with the menu here.  We shared the local pan seared trout which was delicious.  For a second course we had the Snake River Farms Kobe beef sirloin which was done perfectly medium rare. It was tender and wonderful.

They coursed our meal out nicely and they also had a good choice of wines by the glass.

We skipped dessert as it did not seem that they made anything in house.

We will definitely be stopping back here next time we drive through.

When we went to Jaker's for a romantic dinner... Well, I expected a lot more. Nice place, nice decor but the food is too greasy and too pricey for the quality. But their cocktails are amazing ;)

I am from out of state and read the reviews, I wish I could say our night was an enjoyable one, but I can't!. The waitress ordered the wrong item even after my wife pointed directly to it on the menu. We were then overcharged for the item we received. My order was wrong and was offered a salad to make up for it. We had all just started our salads when the entrees appeared. We sent them back. The waitress appeared at our table and had no idea the entrees had just been sent back(lack of communication somewhere). I wish the food would have been better, the service had been better and we had not been overcharged. The asparagus was included with the special of the night l(so the waitress said) and still we were charged an extra dollar per meal. Wish I could be more positive. Hope they improve quickly so others may have a more positive experience.

    YES!

Roadtripping and searching for yelp-approved establishments we found Jakers, and it was pretty awesome.  Our server was super friendly and got us our drinks really quickly.  The appetizer of hot wings was good, and my turkey dinner was pretty good too.  Everyone was pretty happy after the meal (starving on a road trip DOES result in higher yelp ratings), but I thought it was good regardless.  Nice food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere--just what I was looking for.

I ordered Jaker's Soup and Salad on Sunday May 19th. The French Onion Soup had a solidified ball of cheese at the bottom of the dish that wasn't very appetizing. The salad was not chilled and included lukewarm ranch sauce and unusually pungent shrimp. In hindsight, I should have realized this was a red flag as far as Jaker's food storage and preparation. Within 6 hours, I was experiencing all the sharp symptoms of FOOD POISONING. i.e., vomiting and uncontrollable diarrhea into the early hours in the morning.

Jaker's was an unforgettable experience for me. Unfortunately, not in the positive way I would have like to written the review. I would suggest to anyone who goes here be VERY CAUTIOUS of Jaker's salad and any seafood they are serving.

I've been here on a few occasions for appetizers (which are excellent) so thought I would try entrees via their takeout. I'm a seafood snob and since moving here I still hold out hope that someplace local has decent seafood which lead me to order their seafood linguine.  Decent sized portions however, the seafood was obviously pre-frozen and the scallops were questionable. Maybe it's me but I've never had multiple scallops that were so uniformly shaped and alike, almost as if they were pre formed and cut. I only ate one which was one too many. Overall it was edible but only a step or two above the food you find in a lean cuisine.

That all being said, the service was good (three people asked if I needed help within literally a minute of waiting for my change) and I plan on returning but not for the seafood. And I have to admit, after reading some of these steak reviews, I'm a bit curious so next time I'll go red.

Below is a copy of a letter my daughter sent to Jakers Management after a very unpleasant visit to Jakers,  After what happened, I will never return to Jakers or even wish  this experience on anyone.  By all means....if you are looking for a good meal and customer satisfaction...go somewhere else.  I could not leave 0 stars, but would have if possible.

I want to start off by saying that I have never been so disrespected by anyone in my life.  I went to Jakers in Twin Falls, ID on March 6, 2013. My family went there for my mother's birthday since we were in town for her doctors apt. We have eaten at Jakers once before which was good except for the Crème Brulee was soupy, even after three tries to get it right.
This time everything was great until we got our entrees. I had the Prime Rib with twice baked potato, my mother had the Prime Rib with a baked potato, and my father had the Skirt Steak special with twice baked potato. Mine and my father's potatoes were partially frozen and we sent them back, I would guess they went into a microwave and came out cold the second time. On the third time they were hot but were the same potatoes from the first time so it made them hard and dry.. My father's skirt steak was blue (raw and cold) in the middle, which you know if he had  eaten it, it could make him super sick. When it came back it was the same original steak he had, only thrown back on the grill. What happens to a steak that's already cooked and then cooked again?  Tough, dry and hard to eat.
Needless to say, we were unhappy at this point.  My mom had finished her dinner while my dad and I waited for our potatoes to be warmed and my dad's steak regrilled.  Additionally, during all this wait my prime rib was now cold,  We ate ours anyway without complaining as we feared that it might be worse if we sent anything back another time and I really wanted my mom to enjoy her birthday. We were done sending food back and decided to pay and leave.
For my mom's birthday they gave her a cinnamon roll sundae. I had the first bite, there was no ice cream and the cinnamon roll was hard and cold. We told the server and she said well let me get the manager. I took my 3yr old to the restroom and when I returned, there was a lady arguing with my father. He was showing her that it was all whip cream. I told her I took the first bite and there was no ice cream and it wasn't hot. As she argued with me about it, my father was trying to show her when a little bit of the whip cream came out of the bowl. She stormed off and as we were getting up she came running out of what I believe was the kitchen area, saying I was going to ask you to leave (why kick us out we were never rude nor loud, but I guess this is the way to treat customers, since we had already paid). Then she got up in my face and said "I was trying to work with you people". She never once said her name or addressed herself as a manager until I asked for the manager and stated, "I am." (All this time we thought she was just another server).  I asked her if she knew what customer service is and as I asked she stormed off again. As someone who has worked in Customer Service for 13 yrs. I have never treated anyone like that. We never asked for a hand out just wanted something to be done about the disaster of the food and the way we were treated, as I paid a 75 dollar bill.
Unfortunately, you have lost longtime customers and will not be recommending this restaurant to friends, family, coworkers or anyone that ask where to eat in Twin Falls.
I would recommend anyone that is thinking about eating at Jakers...think again.  It is bad when the food is served cold and raw, but there is never an excuse to treat a customer like they were dirt under your feet.  Visiting Jakers was certainly an experience to remember, but one that I never hope to repeat and would not wish upon anyone else.

Good stuff. Not fancy, just solid, tasty food.

Let's be honest here. Idaho Falls isn't exactly the most refined and sophisticated place you've ever been to. That being said, I don't expect to go to a place that rivals Spago, Morimoto or Cut. All I'm interested in is if the place had good chow. Fortunately, Jaker's did. I had the broiled trout and the Gorgonzola fries. Both were delicious. Also, the fact that they had a few local craft beers on tap helped out immensely.

My family and i were on a long road trip and had to stop in twin falls. after crossing montana, we were hungry for steak. We checked yelp and saw the name jaker's pop up. The reviews were mixed, but almost all agreed that jaker's was the best place to eat in twin falls.  If those reviews are accurate, I'd suggest you skip town or hit the nearest grocery store and cook for yourself.

It started when we ordered drinks-a local beer called sockeye that was recommended by our server. The most accurate way I can describe it is pine needles mixed with dish soap. When we were sending it back, we asked the waiter if she tried it and she said no. That's pretty obvious.

The "scones" (really a small, however light and fluffy dinner roll) came very late, by the time we were halfway through our starter salads. One of our party had order a wedge salad with French dressing and no blue cheese, but when it came it wasn't a wedge but a bit of torn iceberg overloaded with blue cheese then covered in French-very strange combination. Both the salad bar and the lobster bisque were nothing to write home about, but at least tolerable. When our mains came, we were relieved to see that two of the three weren't completely butchered. The Kobe beef was excellent, well worth the extra. The six ounce sirloin was a bit grainy, and although both asked for medium rare, they came out near blue. The baked potatoes were "phenomenal" as one of our group said. I wouldn't know, as I ordered the tempura steak dippers and salad bar. They were awful. It wasn't tempura but a thick and soggy batter that was grossly under cooked in places and hid tough, grey meat. Together it created weirdly textured strips that were almost indelibly unless dipped in the cocktail sauce (weird choice for beef) or the chipotle mayo. (It was ok )

Hands down one of the worst parts of the experience was the grossly unprofessional staff. You could see and hear the many young people in the kitchen goofing off and swearing from the tables. It's near Christmas time, and there was about six employees who were decorating, which should've definitely been done at another time. One of them, while we were eating, got up on a booth divider and began wrapping a ceiling column in ribbon as the others watched and laughed, chatting unprofessionally. While she was standing on the divider, she bent over many times, exposing her back and buttcrack to many of the patrons. Then one of the hostesses brought out food from the kitchen and sat down to eat in a booth across from us so she could watch the decorating shenanigans...it was unbelievable. As the employee ate, many more of the other servers and hosts, including our own waitress, came to sit and visit with her. When we left, we hadn't had huge portions, satisfying food, or good service, and we still wound up with a bill over 75 dollars with only two beers and three meals. As we were leaving, we looked regretfully at the Applebee's across the street, knowing that at least it would've offered us a little consistency.

Best BEST steaks ever. Havent come here for the buffets or anything else, so I can't review on that. Just the delicious steaks. In fact, this is Nikki Sixx's fav restaurant here, not many know that he is from Jerome, ID. It is a bit pricey, I only come here on special occasions with my hubby. We spend about 50 to 65 a for two, tip included.

My fiance and I often go to Jaker's and we always love our experience there. A few months ago we even got a hotel room at the shilo inn so we could walk across the parking lot to have dinner and drinks. We would definitely recommend Jaker's to anyone who wants good food, good beer, and a bustling atmosphere.

After driving 11 hours from San Francisco, we wanted to go to a restaurant that had good food and a variety of beers on tap. Jaker's was just the place! We were able to enjoy some fine beers from regional breweries, and our meals were excellent. My husband and I ordered the grilled Idaho trout (trying to be local) and we weren't disappointed. Our son had a beautiful 6-ounce sirloin, and the mac & cheese on the side was impressive. Service was great, and did I mention the beer?

Happy Hour was a great deal! We ate off that entire menu. We were looking for a light dinner as we were in the middle of driving a long distance and the happy hour menu had delicious food. We got the grilled artichoke, burger, hot wings, lettuce wraps (our least favorite). Great place to stop and eat as you're going through town.

Servers were awesome and split our check with the other family we were traveling with.

This place was really good! It was near our hotel and we arrived after a long drive from California. We were seated right away, had great service, and the food was excellent. They had a menu of smaller portions that was good for a late night meal. Our teens had prime rib and ribs and both meals  were tasty and fresh. Honestly, it was one of the better meals we had on our trip!  Prices seemed reasonable.

There are better options in Twin Falls. Food was ok, definitely overpriced. Our server was overworked, and she made a couple minor errors (salad served after entree). The manager tried to help, but we could see through his charming facade and felt he tossed his server under the bus.

    Good spot.
I'm not a huge red meat guy.
    So, taking this into play.

I usually order Seafood (fish, prawns, oysters, clams, etc) then Chicken/Pork, then Red Meat.

But I have been to Jakers in Twin Falls several times and had local Rainbow trout, mac and cheese,  bisque, salads,  chicken parm.

    For the price and quality.
    It's a good fix.
    Service is was sharp.

Five things that have described my experiences at Jakers:

    1) RAGE, undercooked lamb induced RAAGE! Aaaaah!
    2) AMENDS, a comped meal and excellent service, along with apologies from the kitchen for any inconvenience.  I also had them kiss my kingly ring.
    3) DELICIOUS, everything since that meal has been excellent, the service is always awesome, the food delicious, the beer cold, the times good, om nom nom nom nom.
    4) REPEAT, I came here way too many times during my time in Idaho.
    5) RAGE, at the substandard reviews on Yelp! RAAAGE! Aaaaaah!

You see, life is a circle, and circles don't have any points to stick you with.  Circles also keep rolling.  I went to Jaker's from out of town.  Dear California reviewers, I am not from Idaho, and I have eaten in LA, Chicago, KC, St. Louis, Florida, the Bahamas, Europe, etc., so I do have some frame of reference for my contrarian positive review.  Turn off the coastal condescension.  Thank youuuuuuu!

This place is great for the area.  I had one really awful experience, and when I pointed it out it was handled swiftly and beyond any expectations I had.  I was treated with respect at every turn, and had several really amazing meals at Jaker's.  I never hesitated to go back.  The rest of my meals were incredible.  I'm a big fan of this place.

My wife and I went to Jakers in Twin Falls on our 23rd Anniversary and the food was the worse I have ever had. I filled out a comment card on line and received a email back from the Twin Falls Manager and asked for my email address and that was the last I heard from them. Wow that's bad

Ate here last night and it was OK.  The prime rib had great flavor, but it was a little tough.  The horseradish is weak.  Service was good.  The server was attentive without being annoying.  I don't usually choose to go here, but would not object if others suggest it.

Went to Jakers for lunch. We all had the soup and salad bar.  It was great loved the lobster bisque and clam chowder. But the best part of the day was our server Roxy what a great server. Our water glasses never were even close to empty.  After we paid our bill we stayed quite awhile talking and she still kept coming asking to refill our water. If you go ask for Roxy!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. My friend from San Francisco who moved to this stupid inbred State, warned me not to go to any restaurants in ID, excluding Sun Valley which is a diff story since they have some credibility. He was correct. This was suppose to be a good place, but it was really bad, I mean BAD. All 6 of us got sick, like "hurl" sick. My friend and his wife just ordered a salad bar AND they got sick too. Consider the source of the locals when you read the reviews on this stinking place - the spuds have NO CLUE. In a nut shell, they have no point of reference to compare. Apple-bees or Chile's would have been better than this place. BTW, I had to edit this because I just read another good review by someone who said that the "Super 8" motel recommended Jaker's !!!!! HA HA, I rest my case, enough said.

Been to the Jaker's in Meridian and it is hit and miss.   However, the Jaker's in Twin is my hang out when in town.  The food is very good and the serves are friendly.  Always eat in the bar and they have a good happy hour.  The have some Asian food that is great.   If you are looking for a nice upscale restaurant in Twin Falls, this is the place!

We arrived pretty late and this place was recommended by Super 8, where we stayed.

We both order the smart plate (smaller portions). BF ordered a lobster alfreddo, and I ordered a 6 oz steak w/ asparagus. His dishes came with lots of lobster meat and my steak was tender.

Over all quality was nice, and services was smooth. We enjoyed our dinner and will definitely return again.

They made a great gluten free burger and the sauce with steamed calamari is incredible. Great choice, communication in the restaurant needs a little work but their food is nice. Will come back in November and will stop here.

Mediocre to average at best but reportedly the best that Twin Falls has to offer! A mixed menu of dishes most of which probably see the inside of a microwave at some point in their preparation. Such a shame that Twin Falls seems to have little else to offer, this is one dire town for eating out if fellow Yelpers are to be trusted ;)

Jaker's could easily improve their food by reducing the options and focusing on using more local, seasonal produce. On the positive side the staff are friendly and reservations aren't necessary.

I know a couple people that swear that Jaker's is the best place in Twin Falls for dinner - I've never experienced what make it so great for them. Good things to note are that it's been very CLEAN every time I've been in there, and wait staff friendly. Soup/Salad bar for lunch has been OK, and seems like best option if you are heading there for a work meeting/lunch.

The menu food is bland, blah, iffy, with the occasional perfectly baked scone, or superb batch of soup. They've tried to bring in some exotic menu items for the area, but they definitely haven't perfected making them. The Evil Jungle Salad was total disappointment, a poor attempted at something that can be very delicious - save trying Evil Jungle in a bigger town and/or Thai restaurant.

AWESOME grilled trout -- don't miss it. Also, quite a surprise -- I'm a wine snob but when I first tasted the Sawtooth (Idaho) Syrah, which was reasonably priced and generously poured, I nearly fell off my bar stool. Truly wonderful. Only judging this restaurant from one visit, but it was a memorable one.

Easily the most pleasant decor and atmosphere in town.
An upscale small chain restaurant, which seems very well run.
The food is about fifty fifty. I don't know what to tell you to avoid though.
Lately they have been experimenting with exotic cuisines with less than
    encouraging results. Points for trying.
Always good service, full bar, casual tables in bar,  family tables and nice booths in restaurant.

Eh, not so great. It was next door to our hotel & the menu looked pretty good. I didn't even think to check Yelp since I figured people in Twin Falls weren't big Yelpers. Turns out they aren't, but the visitors to Twin Falls are. I won't bother going into much detail, the food just wasn't good. It kind of looks like a Chili's or Flinger's or Chotchke's inside. Lots of flair. We took our food to go & ate it in our depressing subterranean room at the Shilo Inn.  Luckily our road trip improved after this.

Easy on the salad dressing, people.  I ordered the Evil Jungle salad and it was drenched.  Probably my mistake for ordering such an "exotic" item in the middle of nowhere.

Also, your Shrimp and Cream Cheese Wontons should be cooked a little longer.  Won ton skins should always fry to a golden brown.

    Decent raspberry lemonade though!
