Had something really good today...my wife and I had lunch today at this local mex restaurant. The stand out was table side made guacamole. The server peeled and mixed fresh guacamole with onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, salt and garlic powder. It was awesome! Worth a try indeed.
The rest of the lunch was tasty also. I had a vegetable quesadilla and Kate had the mushroom quesadilla both pretty good...but the guacamole !!!!
Very bland and standard Mexican fair. My wife's margarita tasted funny to start and the salsa was from a jar. I don't understand why they don't make salsa from scratch as it is the first impression of the quality of food coming in a Mexican restaurant. If you have ever been to On The Boarder their chips and salsa is better.
I had the chicken fajitas which were ok but had no real flavoring to them. My wife had the chimichanga which looked ok to me but had some kind of cheese sauce on them that she didn't like.
The service was slightly above average and the cost of our dinner wasn't bad. The only reason we tried this place is because we had a coupon but we will not be returning which is a real disappointment because it's right down the street from our house.
