Came here on a Monday night so I am not surprised it wasn't crowded. Actually there was probably less than 15 people. That's fine because it meant drinks came fast and the pool table was open.
The bartender here was sweet and created fun drinks for my friends and I. I highly recommend there drink called a Creamsicle. It tastes as you would expect exactly like one!
The music was just okay, but not horrible. We kept ourselves entertained by trying to learn how to play pool.
Went to Sebastopol for a Bachelorette Party weekend. Â Hit Jaspers for our bar night out and it was memorable.
The music wasn't great but doable. Â The DJ could have played more to the crowd that was there and dancing. Â The dance floor was a good size and wasn't too crowded.
The bartender was generous and very friendly. Â The drinks I felt were generous and priced well.
I will definitely go here again the next time I am in the area.
I come here on occasion for the dubstep nights, and it's fun once in a while. I definitely wouldn't come regularly.
It's a decent bar with great prices and really great - generous and friendly - bartenders. They have pool, and more often than not they have live music of a non-dubstep variety. They also have an outdoor patio that's reasonably nice.
On dubstep nights (Wednesdays usually) it is PACKED. You have to be really in the mood to tackle those nights.
Jaspar O'farrell's is an old style irish pub type. tall ceilings. wooden structure. long bar. a few tables. lots of room to mingle about on the floor.
by chance came here when they had an ownership change and are now offering
happy hour, every day, 3-6. drinks not specified.
drink: eye in the hawk(3.5) 10ish draughts, lots of bottles on the wall.
-mendocino beer co. not bad for hot whether drinking.
on draught:
-many themed activity nights
-friendly bartender, patrons.
Was going well, playing pool, dancing to some great house music. Then this ahole (who is aka the promoter) comes up as we are playing pool and decides that we should play in the dark because he wants the club dark. Okay we were going to let the bottle cap in the pint glass go (and bartender saying "well what do you want me to do" ) but come on! Â We are paying for the table, all six of us have spent at least 40 or more on drinks and where planning to spend more. Bad customer service. So we headed out and went to this cool bar down the street called Aubergine Vintage Emporium & Cafe. Good live band, great drinks. Check that place out 1st.
Review Source:Soo, I just stopped in for a night of dancing and found an explosion of Bass, Lazzers and free prizes! It was a dance-electronic night and people were there to party. I bounced the night away with free cupcakes, lighters and even electrolytes! I like to call it, Electrolyte Hard-Style + I caught a cab right after. Not sure what it's like in the day, but I love their night life!
Review Source:This place is off the hook on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. Â There is a top notch house music event with an old school underground vibe. Â The best dance music dj's in Sonoma County frequent this place. Â Some of them still actually play records!
A small parking lot behind the spot and lots of parking across the street from that, this place is extremely accessible. Â With a great brewery a block away, lots of good looking young people, killer music, and a bar that pours em strong and cheap. Â Careful of the police here leaving town, its a real pipeline for DUI.
Very friendly, cool, small bar vibe and the sound system is epic. Â One of the very best venues to go dancing anywhere in the North Bay without the douche crowd of hip-hop and top 40. Â There's a little patio out back where you can smoke and its smack in the middle of town between two other great spots. Â I love Jasper's!
I really like this place! It had the small town feel that bars in my Fremont hometown do - lots of people who know each other, some stupid young people and some older folks. I really dug the DJ/drummer scene going on. They played some awesome 80s and then some old school 90s rap, and the drummer made them sound like a live band. Music was a tad too loud though. Crowd was ethnically mixed and for some reason had a lot of cute women with short hair paired with douchy guys.
The bartender was an awesome chick who was easy to converse with and offered to fix my guy's Manhattan for free when she thought it wasn't completely perfect. The drink was great, just needed an extra cherry for his sweet tooth, which she was happy to part with. :) At the time I thought, that's exactly how you should be if you're in the business of bartending. When we left I ended up tipping her more for no reason at all. But she was so rad. I'll go back if I'm in town for sure.
This was probably the fourth time I've been to Jaspers last weekend. It's a medium sized spot with a pretty solid smoking deck. I've seen a few friends play here and they can fit all their stuff on the stage, but it's pretty tight. The dancefloor isn't huge either, but it does the damn thing and I was getting real dirty on it last friday. The bouncer was cool and the bartender was sexy and held down the bottles and taps like a champ. I spilled a pint and felt like a drunk, but she was cool about it and the night kept on rolling.
They're drink prices are on point and I've tried a bit of their food. I remember their onion rings being huge and getting a frickin mountain of them that my savage drunchies weren't able to power through. They were tasty too.
I still haven't been to reggae night, but I think I'd like it even more. I like this spot, no major problems with it. Only thing that would be better would be more pool tables, but that's super minor. Everything here seems pretty chill so give it a shot (and take a few!!)
Jaspers is just ok. I've been there many times on nights with live music and without and its never been that great. 9 out of 10 times the bartenders are rude. The crowd varies depending on what band is playing and sometimes its just way too packed and you can barely move plus it takes FOREVER to get a drink. I would rather be at Old Main, but thats just me.
Review Source:Monday nights are interesting... to say the least. Mondays are Reggae/college night and are usually PACKED so its hard to get to the bar, the back patio and hard to walk around inside at all. I hate creepy dancing, and it seems like everyone who dances to Reggae on Mondays dance creepy. And I hate dreadlocks. Those are stinky. Yeah... I don't think I will be doing any more Reggae nights, but this is a cool place for a quick drink or to hang out on a Sunday when its not so packed.
Review Source:Reggae night...so not canceled. Â Went there last week. Â I was surprised at how much fun I had, but I guess the company accounts for it as well. =)
Really good music, fortunately they didn't play too much hip hop. FREAKIN packed by 12am  but everyone was very nice. First time I've shared a space with such a diverse crowd since moving to Sonoma County which felt SO GOOD; kinda felt like I was back in SF at Club Six.  Danced my tookus off.  Will definitely return. Please spin Sister Nancy...
Anyways, love this space. Â First time I ever walked in, it was by accident, on a Sunday night. Â Pool table, few booths and stools, complete with a disinterested bartender who appeared to be an old-time surfer. Â Wood everywhere, nothing fancy, chic, sexy or modern about it. Just a great place to relax and have a drink while wearing my favorite baggy boy sweats. Generous pours of Jameson, buncha brews on tap, Knob Creek ready at hand, but always out of Black (dammit).
But as time passed and many visits later, I've come to realize that Jasper's is much more versatile. Sometimes an old man dive, other times a casual, dim lit apres-dinner nightcap lounge for couples, and then again it reinvents itself as the weekly raucous horny college night hookup joint.
More stars for the usually clean bathroom, large smoking patio out back with an extra bar there for when the place is packed to capacity, and the staff:
Love the Pac Islander doorman, all the super sweet female bartenders who do their very best to please;
and a special place in my heart for 'Tender Greg, ponytail, beard, surfer shorts, huge ass pours and all.
I've been told that Reggae night was canceled. Which is an utter travesty. Because everyone needs a memory that like my first night at reggae night.
Ah yes I remember it fondly. I was going to have an easy Monday night with the girls since I was driving. I'd get a couple of drinks, have a dance or two and we would leave by 12 or so.
I ended up getting smashed, hooking up with some dude that was near stalker material (woo! I can pick em!), and listening to a message from my friends calling me at 7 am the next morning asking where the eff am I because the bar is closed and I'm their ride (oops).
Happily that incident never occurred again for the following reasons
1. I realized that the 16 oz cups of vodka collins were not in fact equal to one drink nor did they water down their vodka.
2. Stalker dude lived in Sebastopol so it made it slightly awkward every time I saw him there again.
3. While I was often the most sober person there and was often the one driving home, I was never allowed to drive there again.
Let's see, where shall I start...
I will just give you the important details:
1) Great pours, they aren't shorting your glass.
2) Great prices.
3) AMAZING jukebox.
4) Friendly patrons, not rude-ass guys who leer at you while you play pool. Honestly normal people, except the girl who came in a half shirt and dances in sweatpants.
5) They always have toilet paper and soap in the restroom.
6) Last time I was there (Saturday night), cool DJ.
All in all, great digs in Sebastopol. If you are lucky, you get kick-ass margarita's in the afternoon on the patio!
Monday night. Â Reggae music. Â Drunk people. Â Drunk you. Â Outside seating to smoke while you drink. Â Though it's REALLY hard to get a drink...especially if you're a cute girl. Â They have chick bartenders that usually serve up the cute dudes firsties.
It's kinda cool. Â I've been there other nights but it's just not the same.
Oh yah and I left my purse there one night and had to go back to get it after they'd closed. Â The staff was totes nice and didn't even steal any of my things. Â Awesome.
