Not the best.  Needs some attitude adjustment.

Quirky little place serving a rather large menu of mostly American fare.  Definitely a solid option for breakfast in an area with relatively few options.

Cant say I was blown away or overwhelmed, but it's certainly a nice little restaurant to have in an area generally devoid of restaurant options.  I liked the casual feel and the simplicity of the interior as well.

I, too, have passed this place for years but have never stopped. My husband discovered it last summer and wouldn't stop raving about it. We finally went together on a Sunday morning last fall. I had one of their breakfast specials, huevos rancheros. Sorry, not impressed; it was very bland.  I've definitely had better. Their drink selection is weak and lacking.

Fast forward to last week: the hubs and I met there for lunch. The "waitress" greeted him but not me. I asked for a cheddar burger with grilled onions, a slight variation of one of their burger specials. I even repeated it to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. She said yes. When we picked up our order---no onions. My burger was mediocre at best, as I was told they make "awesome" burgers. (Five Guys is better) The fries were ok, but if I had known I wouldn't be getting grilled onions, I would've ordered onion rings.

To sum up: street parking is difficult, small lot in back. It gets very crowded, it's self-service, large extensive menu on the blackboards, the chef is friendly, if you want take-out there's a $20 minimum.

This is a great place to dine in or take out for lunch.  The menu is vast and the food is really good.  There is very little street parking, but there is a parking lot in the back with a back entrance too.  It gets crowded because the locals know that the soups and sandwiches are worth waiting for.

A great local cafe for meeting friends and having a meal.  Service is very friendly and personable.  We always feel warm and welcomed by the owner and staff of this local cafe.

I visited Jerry's Brooklyn Grill for a team luncheon and it was my first time there.  The layout may seem a little awkward, but the food was solid.  Lots of options for lunch and the food was quite tasty.  I had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and it was yummy!  I'd definitely come back.  Don't be discouraged with the slow traffic and street parking, there's a small free lot across the street.  If you're looking to get out for lunch, I'd definitely recommend you trying Jerry's.

I went there on a whim b/c I was starving and didn't feel like making the trek to get something good... I just figured quick and simple. Wellllll........ The waitress was acting a bit strange but the owner was nice and friendly. They were pretty busy with take out orders from local companies. So as I patiently waited for my food, I wasn't offered water or anything. My food arrived, and it was about average or a little below. I forget what I paid for my sandwich but I remember thinking to myself I would prefer to have driven an extra 5-6 minutes to go elsewhere. I have heard they have good breakfast from a unreliable source... So if their breakfast is anything like my lunch, then I will pass.

What I can say.. If you are in the area, stuck and hungry... Go in for a average meal... Oh btw I learned afterwards the water is self serve.... Thanks waitress for even telling me that.. So why did I tip you b/c you really did nothing....?

Stop by and give it a try... Thats all, don't expect to be wow'd.

I have passed this place 1,000 times - and I usually have to stop for people crossing the road going in or coming out. So we stopped in the other day for breakfast and we were impressed. We found the service to be very friendly, just what we are looking for in a local town restaurant. Place is nice inside, they have TVs and a little breakfast bar. I had scrabbled eggs and bacon with toast. I like to make a sandwich with the bacon and eggs and toast - and I found it to be one of the best sandwiches bread made the whole thing considering it was freshly cut. Overall we liked it and we will be back, maybe for lunch next time...

Jerry's Brooklyn was allright. The place was packed when I went there, which explains why the service was so slow.

I asked the lady if she could make me a burger that wasn't on the menu. She said yes, which was very nice of her. However, the burger was lacking. I ordered a portabella burger with all the fixings but there was no great taste to the burger. It was very soggy and there was an unpleasant bitter vinegary taste from the dressing. For 12 bucks, that was a total ripoff.

I am only giving this place 2 stars bc of the cleaniness of the place, decor, and that accommendating lady.

Being born and raised in Brooklyn myself, I couldnt pass this place up once my boyfriend found it.  The cool neon lights outside draw you in and the food and service will keep you coming back.  The Bay Ridge Tower as an appetizer is a must try.  Everything we had for dinner was fresh and tasty. From one former Brooklynite to another, great job.

This place is an awesome downtown place to eat.  I hope it is here forever.  At night it is a really nice place to have dinner.

Everyone love Jerry.  Theres a bunch of regulars.  Great place for coffee in the morning.  Lunch is phenominal.  I had a pulled pork sandwich.  Really good.  I also had a dinner special with salmon and shrimp.  In the morning I get an egg and cheese with a coffee.

Great variety and overall a great place to eat.

You CANNOT beat Jerry's in terms of quality and authentic food!  Everything is homemade and exceptional quality---breakfasts are the best!  I went there one time and happened upon rib night.  Apparently Jerry used to run a rib joint too!  Best food ever; you will not regret driving a very long distance for this food!

It's your typical American fare with typical midtown prices.  The food is decent, but it's hard to explain why my #3 sloppy turkey wrap wasn't sloppy at all (I was expecting sloppy joe consistency).  The ordering process is more sloppy than the food if you're sitting down.

This place is delicious! I am so glad we stopped. I had a veggie skillet and it was mostly vegetables including asparagus, tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, and spinach and no potatoes which was a pleasant surprise. Their bread is super fresh which leads me to believe their sandwiches and lunch is amazing as well. I will definitely come back the next time I am in town.

Jerry's place is has a cult like following among several people I know and I finally went there. In fact, we ran into one of the people who recommended Jerry's to us, they now live in PA. It turns out they come to Jerry's every week as a family and the husband goes there every day for breakfast. So we were expecting good things for Jerry's and I can say they were right.
Our friends from PA told us the key to Jerry's is the food the food is unbelievable and I agree.
At Jerry's you order at the counter and they call your name to get your food. So the food is hot and fresh when it comes out. You also don't have to tip anyone. The result is a tremendous value for great food. I can bring my family there for brunch and walk out for $20 to $25, in a dinner I'd be paying $40. Plus the food at Jerry's is way better.
Now I know why Jerry's has it's cult like following. I took me years of hearing about it to finally go there, don't you make the same mistake.

Jerry's food is great and the service is wonderful. Complimentary limoncello after your meal is a terrific touch. BYOB! Food is extremely reasonable, and portions are generous. Highly recommended.
