On the south side of Fort Wayne, this restaurant has seemingly been having an identity crisis for the last 15 years that I have been a patron here, serving American, Chinese, and Mexican styles of food. Â 15 years - I've never tried anything besides the Mexican fare. Â
Another dark, dim restaurant, I find it most appropriate for lunch, although with so few visitors around lunch-times, its a wonder they remain open during that time. Â The wait staff is very kind and down-to-earth - unafraid to warn you if anything is sub-par. Â
If you happen to go on one of the random days they have the lunch buffet, you are in for a treat. Â For around $10, you will receive all-you-can-eat tacos, burritos, buffalo wings, chips & salsa (which you receive anyway), and whatever else they decide to put out on the buffet. Â I once witnessed a co-worker (a rather large fellow) devour 3 HEAPING plates of wings. Â For lunch. Â Very healthy. Â Unfortunately, it is next to impossible to discern when a lunch buffet will take place. Â The last time I saw a notice for it, 2 years ago, the buffet was offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and every 3rd Friday.
Reasonably priced, lunches often run less than $10 a plate. Â The chips and salsa arrive hot - as many as you would like. Â The food doesn't take terribly long to arrive. Â My favorite is the Chicken Chimichanga - which is served with Spanish Rice, Refried Beans, tomato, and lettuce.
The food isn't fantastic - its good for the price. Â Worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood, but again, don't come with high expectations. Â Good food, and plenty of options if you can't decide what you're in the mood for.
