This place ain't all that. Â I have eaten here twice because of family choice or convenience to friends. Â This will not be a memorable experience. Â The food is very average at best. Â Think the chain Ponderosa Steakhouse without the salad bar. Â ie, I won't be back unless it's a matter of meeting fiends half way between our residences again.
Review Source:As far as a highway exit restaurant goes this place is pure gold. The building has great decor, I love the door pulley system and wooden frame work around the dining room.
Staff was easy going and responsive and prices were fair. I got the prime rib Saturday night special and it was great. Full of flavor and a huge portion. The baked potato was top notch and as others have commented the green beans are fresh and really tasty. My friends NY strip looked excellent and the ribs were awesome. I'd have to guess it was at least a five hour cook. The meat was falling off of the bones, and the bones themselves were so soft you could push a fork through them.
Maybe this place wouldn't be 5 stars in the big city, but if you're looking for someplace better then Hardy's to eat between Columbus and Cleveland thats close to 71 you aren't going to get any better then KC's.
I've probably been to KC's a dozen or so times over the last few years and have sampled their steaks, ribs, and seafood. If the atmosphere was "better" you can bet the prices would be double! Drinks are very reasonable as well. I was able to have ribs, shrimp and a couple cocktails for under $30 the last time I went.
Review Source:If you find yourself hungry on I-71, check this place out. K.C. caters to the carnivorous crowd: ribs, steak, a smattering of fish and chicken options. If you can stop for one beer (but drive safely, please), even better: Â they have Great Lakes by the bottle! Â Side dishes were great, especially the green beans. Spare ribs were very tender: a bit too fatty for this occasional meat-eater, but still delicious. Steak was a little tough, but still enjoyable enough to bring home the leftovers. Â Â
Extra points for the hostess who yelled "Two and a half-pint!" into the kitchen when our group (two adults and a one-year-old) was seated.
We'll be back, I venture to guess.
