This establishment is well-versed in bait-and-switching. Their website clearly advertises that live reggae on Thursday night is free before 10pm and $5 after 10pm. My sister and I were looking forward to having some drinks, enjoying good food, and listening to music, so we arrived at 9:15pm and a party of about 4 other people arrived at the same time. We all walked in, ready for a good night, and the hostess at the front says, "Five dollars, please." There was also a sign letting people know that admission is $5 before 10pm and $10 after 10pm. My sister and I looked around like she must have been crazy...the place was DEAD and there wasn't a live band within earshot! And they had the nerve to try to charge to get in?! Nope. My sister and I walked right out the door and so did the party of 4 behind us.
We headed to a bar down the street where we were able to have a really good time and listen to some decent karaoke for a few hours. We drove past Kealoha's a little after midnight and it was still completely dead. LOL!
Whoever is running the marketing at this place needs to be fired. Your establishment lost good business (ahem, MONEY) all because you tried to be greedy and wouldn't be honest and upfront with your customers. Had we known that there would be a cover, we could have made an informed decision and might have even ended up staying at Kealoha's. But feeling like we're being bamboozled? We will always take our business elsewhere.
I came here on a Saturday night and there was only about 30 people at 11PM. We went in for about 30 minutes, the DJ kept playing the same music. It was pretty much dead. Skip this place, it's definitely not worth the cover charge.
The bouncer at the front had horrible customer service. Charge a cover for this place. I think not. There's no one here. Not to mention he was super rude.
