Let me start this review by saying that I am seriously addicted to their chicken parmagiana. The portion is huge and it is smothered in yummy mozzarella cheese and sauce. Its amazing! Â Okay, now that I go that out of my system, lets talk about the place in general. The owners are a charming couple who really seem to enjoy what they are doing. All their food is excellent. I know this because even though i ALWAYS order the chicken parmagiana, I do taste everything my husband orders. They will tailor their menu items to you preference and are very eager for you to enjoy their food. I could not say enough about the restaurant and these people. Go visit them soon. You will not be disappointed!
Review Source:A local favorite, King George House of Pizza (KGHOP) offers generous portions of pizza, subs, and pasta at very reasonable prices. The dishes we had were a huge fried calamari appetizer, steak and cheese sub, KGHOP special sub (ham, roast beef, and turkey), Mexican pizza (green peppers and jalapenos), and a large kid's spaghetti that included a basket of bread, all for about $33. We'd previously had their bacon and onion pizza, which was also surprisingly good. Â The food was all tasty and the quantity was so much we ended up taking several boxes home. Â
There's lots of parking, and the place fills up around dinner time. Very friendly staff was a plus.
I take out from here all the time. They, for some reason, have the best freakin' chicken tenders I've ever had.
For a place named "house of pizza" however, I for one, think the pizza is awful. It is WAY over cheesed (yes there is such a thing) and the bottom of the pizza is SO doughy that it remains soft and soggy.
That being said though, this is not Chicago or New York style, it is its own "Greek-ish" style that comes from so many Greek mom and pop style restaurants, so you have to expect something different.
Even with the terrible pizza, I still love this place. The staff is SUPER friendly and accommodating. I truly enjoy a restaurant where the owners/staff make me feel like they appreciate me as a customer instead of acting like they are doing me a favor by letting me eat there.
The prices are slightly higher than I'd expect, but in an area with a smaller client base I can assume its needed to make a profit. The portions are large, and the ingredients (as far as I can tell) are mostly fresh/quality.
I recommend everyone in the area or passing through give this place a chance.
