Knuckleheads is an average wings/burger place with scantily clad servers. Most night the servers are dressed as what I assume are school girls (not entirely sure why it would sexy for a school girl to serve you wings, but to each their own) but on special days or night they have themes and let the girls have a little more freedom with their outfits. Â I don't think the usual outfit is flattering for many of them and ends making them seem a little awkward. Â Just like any other breastaurant, the idea is for them to linger at the table, which they do pretty well if you're older or a regular. But if you have any ladies with you, don't plan on getting nearly as much attention! Â The times I've been our servers usually neglicted our table, in favor of other groups.
The food is very average. Â The regular wings are pretty good and they have a few different sauces you can choose from. Â Otherwise, nothing is horrible and nothing is amazing. Â They used to (and they may have changed it since the last I was there) require the servers to take orders straight from memory instead of letting them write them down, this led to a lot of mix ups when the food ended up arriving. Â Overall I wouldn't recommend this place if you have other options, but the thing it really has going for it is that its one of very few restaurants in madison and one of even fewer on that side of town.
It's a sports bar located in a strip mall. If you understand this basic description then you know what to expect. The staff is friendly, but very young. TVs are located everywhere you turn, which makes it a great place to watch any game. They have a large selection of draft beers which makes up for the average "pub-fare" menu. The highlight is truly the game day atmosphere and enthusiastic locals who will welcome you in, cheer along with each play, and make you feel as though you've walked into a great tailgate. Its not for the faint of heart, those who like froo-froo cocktails, or the non-sports fan. Â But if you wanty to cheer along with a crowd, you might not find a better spot in the Madison/Huntsville area to watch a game.
Review Source:As you might have read, this place is a lot like Hooters, but it doesn't really pretend to be classy. Â The food is surprisingly good....from wings, to burgers, to salads and fried pickles... I've never really been let down by the food. Â They also have a large selection of beers both bottled and draught, including many local varieties such as Straight to Ale. Â The service can be hit a miss as you might also expect. Â All the girls are sweet and polite, but sometimes they seem lost. You won't be surprised if you go for a good while without seeing your waitress.
With that said, it's one of the better places on the Madison side of town to watch a game or to catch a bike night. Â I would take it any day over Buffalo Wild Wings or Hooters.
Meh. Â It's a Hooters with even less clothing. Â The atmosphere is very similar and the waitresses "hang out" at your table for extended periods of time. Â That's great and all if your waitress is peppy and happy but if you get one that's tired and has had a long day then they just hang around and depress you.
I got the boneless wings and they were just ok, very similar to Buffalo Wild Wings in taste and quality. Â The fries were TERRIBLE. Â They were SO crunchy, like BREAK YOUR TEETH crunchy. Â I have no idea how you screw fries up like that. Â The fried pickles were nothing to write home about either.
I think the uniform needs a little work. Â It's pretty skankalicious but not exactly flattering on most of those girls. Â You'd have to be a twig to wear it and not have anything hanging over the skirt. Â This is not a snark on the girls themselves, but on the highly unflattering uniform.
I would have given two stars for the place, but the televisions for the game and the speaker boxes available to listen to on the tables bumped this rating up to three stars. Â Also, I think our server helped out that score a bit too. Â Im not really sure what is available for sports bars in the Huntsville area, but my group and I needed to see the NHL semi-finals and decided to give this place a shot. Â The inside was nice and new and there were televisions throughout. Â In fact, a television at almost every booth. Â Restaurant area was a bit slower than the bar area...which was nice. Â The bar was packed and looked like they will have many repeat customers. Â The place is new, so they are struggling with many of the kinks to be worked out when opening a new place - things like understanding all parts of the menu and getting the speaker boxes for the tables working. Â No big deal though.
The food wasn't really all that stellar to say the least. Â I had a buffalo chicken wrap which was tasty, but much more greasy than I expected it to be. Â The wrap looked as if it was somewhat fried on the outside and left a grease spot on the plate. Â Just not expecting a wrap to be wet from oil. Â Also, really heavy on the cheese, which is why it was so tasty, but a little too rich. Â One person in the group didn't like their salad, another enjoyed their sandwich and thought that the lemonade was fantastic. Â So I guess we can say some liked it, some didn't. Â
The biggest complaint of the night was the uniforms the servers wear. Â Not really a whole lot of clothing and as I can't argue with that, it wasn't really pulled off that well. Â It did look a bit trashy. Â I get the idea to show some skin, but I think it made some people at the table uncomfortable as some maybe should not be dressing in such a manner. Â It looked a little desperate.
I should say that the highlight of the night was our server. Â We lost our first one, which I believe just "peaced out" in the middle of our meal. Â I believe she had had enough and was moving on to bigger things in life...who knows. Â We did kind of chuckle. Â Our new server was outstanding! Â One of the best I've had. Â She was so apologetic and made sure we had everything we needed. Â She seemed like she had a lot of experience and did a great job for the rest of our meal. Â The other servers were just as friendly. Â Good people. Â Work on the uniforms a bit and you have a good place for a family to come into. Â
Even though the food wasn't stellar, I would give them another shot as Im sure they are still working through their menu. Â Its a good place for the game and they have a good list of draughts. Â Very impressed by the service.
This sports bar is not completely up and running yet. We tried dropping by to catch dinner and the Stanley Cup Semifinals. They could not accommodate us and the basketball game that was on all the screens.
The staff looked cute in their kilts. We didn't get to a menu.
Per foncon they anticipate being able to serve up six games at a time next weekend. The customers there were families who seemed happy. I hope they can serve the hockey fans and Steeler fans who came to their predecessors.
