Waitress was seldom seen and was not warm; merely perfunctory.  Decor was old and depressing.  I told the waitress I wanted my  burger cooked well.  When it arrived it was med-rare so I could not eat it.  The person I was with completed their meal before the waitress returned to our table.  She saw my food and said "is there a problem?"  I told her the food wasn't cooked right and she said they would re-cook it and I told her I didn't want anyone touching my food and that it was too late as my companion had already eaten.  She said she took my meal off the check but it was still over $13 for a burger and fries.   Horrible waitress.  Unappealing decor.  Don't eat there.

Can one-season only tourist destinations find the bucks and business to churn out a top notch tourist experience?? In the seemingly depressed economy of the little Lake towns of 1000 Islands New York...the answer is a resounding "No".  Nothing we sampled over a three day visit had us clamoring,"More!"..(though it came close with Josie's Pizza in A-Bay).

Koffee Kove with it's cutesy Kardashian-esque divergent spelling is Good for Clayton, NY. And probably good all year round! But let us be very clear-this is NOT a coffee shop...they serve regular and decaf coutesy of Bunn.

The service is amazing, the dishes just fine, the eggs are eggs and the bread is toasted. Expect to fill your belly with decent offerings that leave you neither nauseated or thrilled.

Love the home town feel. The waitresses will treat you how you treat them. Good people. The Reuben is great most days!  Sometimes too much dressing.  Fries and gravy all the way....  My family and I love the Bertrand!!  It sounds weird to some people but you've gotta try it at least once....

The pies are the best in the area in my opinion. All homemade on Fridays!!  I love the coconut pie!!!

Good for family and kids.  Food comes out hot and quick every time I've been there.

Home cooked food at fairly inexpensive prices. Their fried chicken basket is really good. They also have a pretty good variety of food to choose from; fish, chicken, taco salad and a good burger menu.

They also have carry out, so if you want a good supper for the same price as a sub dinner call them ahead and swing by on the way home from work.

The customer service is hit or miss. 8 times out of 10 you will usually get a friendly server. 2 times out of 10 you'll get a grouchy waitress who will make you feel bad about being a customer.

    Overall, I'd recommend.

I am giving Koffee Kove the benefit of the doubt and giving it 4 stars. In reality, it should earn 3.5. The old bag greeting people needs to work on her customer service skills. Now, the haddock sandwich was gigantic and delicious. The waitress was quick with my order and bill. The small tables out front are perfect for a warm Summer day!

Family favorite! We lived in Clayton for 4 years, and would squeeze in after church on Sunday mornings. Homemade toast is great, thick sliced, and buttered :) The breakfasts were our favorite meals, and I'm the adventurous eater, so I'd always try the specials. No pre-fab food here! The blackboard at the back wall is worth checking out to see what the daily offerings are, pies, soups, and quirky notes. Seasonal tourists like to crowd in during the warmer months, but the waitresses are pros, and treat the regulars like family.

I liked this place so much that I was sure to go back while on vacation a second time. I was amazed at the prices, especially when they bring out such large portions of such delicious food. The cornbeef hash is yummy and the house coffee blend is very good. For lunch I had the Remember Me, delicious. The scenery is interesting and keeps you busy looking at maps and other nautical goods while you wait. I very much recommend.

The Koffee Kove, located in downtown Clayton, is a nice little place to enjoy coffee and food! Everyone I have talked to about this little place had only good things to say about it.

Basically people love the breakfasts at this place. And the coffee. I did enjoy the omlette and home-made toast. My only complaint was the the tables were a bit close to one another, making my skinny frame squeeze through when I attempted to exit the place. That or the crowd made it all appear tight.
