Another stop on the Matthews tour...Kristophers. I've been many times over the years, most recently this weekend.
I've liked it more over time - now that I've honed in on what's best there. I won't keep you in suspense- it's the wings! Love them hot with extra celery, yum! They come out hot and the wings themselves are meaty and tasty. I don't find the hot too hot, but just hot enough.
We usually sit at the bar, so I can't say much about the service - the bartenders are busy, but friendly.
They do have 10 Charlotte/NC beers on tap, so big props for that. The draft prices are a smidge high imho, but I still like to support local.
Oh, I do have to warn you about one thing...the place is pretty divey in general. They could really use a renovation. They also have red lights in there, which I will never understand. But, for some good wings, I can get over it!
Great little neighborhood spot. Â Something about this place just really sticks with me. Â It might just be because the other Matthews options are Finz (OH GOD!) and beantown(not bad but not great), so given the limited choices, kristopher's large beer selection, and the cool atmosphere I always enjoy coming here. Â The food is decent, nothing will ever jump out at you as being the best of something that you have ever had, but its always a pretty decent meal. Â Craft beer prices are a little high, but there are usually specials, and there is always a dirt cheap beer like PBR, High Life, or bush light available to the budget savvy.
