It is hard to find real authentic Mexican food this far from the west coast.  This place is very good and authentic!

The free chips and salsa were great.  The salsa was really hot but really tasty.  The chips were actually flour tortilla, not corn, so they tasted a bit like pita chips. A nice change of pace.

The lemonade was great. The menu said it was fresh squeezed, I did not expect to get refills, but they gave them to me!  It reminded me of lemonade I made from scratch a long time ago- not too sweet and not bright yellow but very refreshing.

I got the tamale plate and my companions both got the chimichanga.  We all had pork, because that was what the server said was his favorite.  The chimichangas were the right amount of crispy and soft with lots of yummy meat.  Extremely filling without being too heavy/greasy.  The tamales were tender and moist and flavorful.
The refried beans were clearly housemade, with it being smooth and chunky at the same time.  They gave me green salsa to go with my tamales.  The food was all good.  We all left very, very full and happy.

This place is family run and pretty new.  Apparently they are still playing around with what works in this town.  Our local friend asked them about the salsa because it was different than the last time he came in.  They told us it was too hot for most people so they changed it.  We asked about lengua and cabeza, but you won't be seeing that here anytime soon.  It is Wyoming after all.

The restaurant itself could use some better signage.  It is on the corner in the same building as The Hot Springs Inn.  You cross a little bridge over a goldfish pond to get to the front door.

If you are looking for Chi Chi's or Chevy's or some other Americanized version of Mexican food then go to Las Fuentes.  If you want to feel like you are in a taqueria with  real Mexicans serving you real Mexican food, go to La Fiesta.

This is by far the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. My husband could not even get his KNIFE to cut through his chili relleno and the beans and rice were completely tasteless.  Enchiladas were extremely greasy and lacked flavor as well.  Will not be patronizing this restaurant again.
