Like most cantinas, the food is good but not great. Â Thats the nature of Tex-Mex, and you come here because you want comfort food and not something that might be prepared by a Food Network celeb. Â However, the food is of a consistent high quality, and the service is always exceptional. Â The staff seats you quickly, checks with you regularly, and is friendly and engaging. Â If you're there for a special occasion, the staff Â goes out of their way to make it a special experience. The combination specials are always the most popular items, but many locals love the tilapia, the chicken soup, and the chorizo (sausage) queso. Â I highly recommend it.

Having read 3 good reviews, and this being one of the ONLY places in town to sit down and order food, we tried it out during our visit to Elberton. Â We were greeted/seated right away (NICE) and given chips/salsa (good), and the place seemed lively and clean (free WIFI)... but it sort of ended there, the food was very disappointing. Â The margarita I ordered had a strange "Soapy" taste to it and for $4.50 was sad. Â I ordered a steak that had a "sauce" described on the menu, I asked the waiter what it was and if it was spicy? Â he gestured "no sauce, no problemo" -- making me think I would get the steak without it or on the side (he did not speak English well). Â Well I got steak SMOTHERED in a very spicy red sauce - not what I wanted AT ALL. ... so he took it back and returned in a moment...I guess THEY WASHED OFF THE STEAK! Â Gross!! Â Also I the menu said "with rice/beans" to mean it means BOTH, but obviously NOT as we were charged $1.00 extra because I asked him for refried beans vs. black beans. Â My husband's pork dish was very green looking and too spicy and not to his taste either. Â The chips were too thick and greasy. Â Overall, not happy with the meal, experience, pricing etc. Â Very disappointed.

One of the best places to eat in Elberton. Good friendly service. Good food for a good price. Pretty standard Mexican fare.

Still liking this place. Items that we tried this time, the chicken nuggets for kids. It was approved, he cleaned the plate. And the fried ice cream is really yummy, but be sure and share with someone, it's huge.
