First time eating from LaFontana - ordered takeout as we were visiting friends nearby. Our friends are regulars at La Fontana, and they suggested the Strombolis.  We ordered a medium Veggie, and medium meat Strombolis with extra sauce.

bottom line - Fantastic.  The two mediums was enough food for four of us for lunch.  The veggie was full of fresh vegetables, and lots of them.  The meat was packed with meat, and both came with cheeze oozing out of the middle when you took a bite.  What sealed the deal with me, and I am picky, was the thin, light, crispy crust that didn't overwhelm the Strombolis nor the pallet.  DON'T forget the sauce - chunks of tomatos, slightly sweat, and floating herbs make this a required addition to the meal.

I will be back, and the veggie is all mine!!

Came in on Saturday May 12th, 2012 around 11:30 after leaving Russell's over there prefix menu on Bloomsburg Graduation Day. Immediately found a table for 5 in the shade and sun - outdoors and was quickly approached by the wonderful mature server who was spot on. She remembered our order without writing it down, was efficient and on the ball. My only hesitation about her was the fact that she appeared to be rushing us out after we finished our meal - and it looked like she was trying to turn the table.

We ordered a Cheese-steak - no cheese just meat and bread; Chicken Cheese-steak; Salad; and a White Pie along with a plethora of beers - either Yuengling or Miller Lights. The prices were simply unbelievable, portions were large and food was tasty. $10 for a large pizza; $6 for a 12 inch cheese-steak; and $2.25 beers made this place an absolute steal.

Overall our entire bill was $68 - I gave the server a $100 and told her to keep the change. If I am ever in Bloomsburg again, I will definitely stop in.

On the recommendation of a local craftsperson at the Saturday Community Market, we went to La Fontana for an early lunch.

The menu has a full complement of pizzas, pastas, appetizers, and sandwiches. We settled on a bruschetta and an eggplant parmesan sub to share.

The bruschetta was delicious, but very garlicky. I could taste it hours later! Not good...The eggplant parmesan sub was filled with deliciously fried eggplant, marinara sauce, and just the right amount of cheese on a rather good sub roll. One of the best eggplant subs I've had!

The prices were fair overall, and the service was attentive. I'd have no problem with returning on a future visit to Bloomsburg.

Can't complain about this place since I've eaten there more often than others. Sit outside during the summer if you like watching motorheads race along Thunder Alley. Just make sure you can read lips or have great hearing.

This place is typically busy, but the food is defenitely worth the wait. I'd call it my favorite restaurant in town...

We ate here a year ago- the kids had pizza and we had pasta.  We learned later that they did not make their own pasta- that should have been a sign.. but as a PP said- it is in the middle of PA.. it is not true or good Italian food.  I'd stick to burgers in Bloomsburg for what we experienced.

Kind of dreary surroundings - dark dining room. The Caprese salad came on a bed of very tired lettuce, the tomato and mozzarella were fine, but the visual effect of the lettuce brought it down substantially.  The fried calamari was a bit chewy, but the flavor was fine.  The pizza - flat out sad.  My husband's comment: it's pizza in the middle of Pennsylvania - what did you expect?

this is a friendly addition to market square.  the pizza (thin crust-style, like most of the places around here) is very good and the pasta dishes i've had were ok, too.

does get overheated inside during the summer though.  more of a lunch take-out situation in the warm months, sit-down dinner place in the cooler months.

I ate at La Fontana with my Aunt after a long day of photography the local covered bridges. We passed this restaurant the night before and it's location caught our eye. On a Monday afternoon, I was surprised to enter an empty restaurant but luckily we were able to score a window side seat.

As an appetizer, we order the spinach & crab dip. It didn't taste much like crab, but it was absolutely delicious. Like, out of this world, want to lick the plate, can we have a bowl of this instead of a cup, I want to eat this for the rest of my life good.

My Aunt ordered the chicken parmesan dinner which came with a salad. The pasta sauce was very tasty. I ate the chef salad with ranch dressing. Both meals were very enjoyable and affordable. Their entire dinner menu was $6.95! Perfect for a college budget. If you skip an appetizer, you can easily get a meal for less than $10.
