La Valentina

everything is always super fresh and light. way better than most mexican places in central arkansas. reminds me of cantina laredo but better prices and less "uppity" feeling. decor is nice and airy with happy clean colors. we go out of our way to come here.

Great service & food.

This is the best, freshest Mexican food in the state. The Valentina salad is amazing, even the cheese quesadilla is better than most. The rice and beans are vegetarian- a rarity- and were great!! My husband had the chile rellenos, and said they were seasoned very well and very lightly fried - not gummy at all.  The chips are light and crispy and the salsa perfectly spicy. The house margarita is tangy, not overly alcoholic, and delicious.

Now for the criticism: the sopapilla was a flat fried tortilla, not the doughy pillows I'm used to. But it was yummy. The service was overly attentive and there was a big TV being installed while we ate, but I'm sure that's not always the case, and these are really minor things that the food easily makes up for.
