Lamprey River Tavern

The Sunday jazz is, more often than not, fantastic, and the Lamprey is a great place for mimosas (very strong!). The daily drink specials are super cheap and halfway decent, too. If you're vegan, the kitchen doesn't know what that means and will not prepare a vegan meal for you even if you ask, so you should just go for the cheap drinks.

I love the Lamprey River Tavern! They have different themes for each day... for example, Tuesdays are $5.00 burgers, Wednesday is "wine down wednesday", Thursday is Mexican night ($2.50 margaritas!)... etc.

Well, let's just say that we refer to the Lamprey River Tavern as the "lesser tavern" and some other not so nice terms...

My boyfriend lived directly behind the tavern for a few years, so we ended up here quite a few times out of convenience. Generally, when the other tavern was full (Cinco de Mayo comes to mind) or after very long nights for Sunday brunch. The food is pretty mediocre, as are the drinks.
