Laura's Tavern was a good pit stop for lunch after a day of snowboarding. Â There's no tables and chairs, and it's kind of quiet inside (atleast mid day), so you just order and eat at the bar, but I was impressed with the freshness and preparation of the food.
I got a grilled chicken sandwich with provolone, though the provolone tasted like bleu cheese. Â That's kind of funny because they only offered american, cheddar, and provolone... hmmm. Â Anyway, sandwiches came with an Italian slaw, which wasn't very appetizing to me. Â It looked pretty though since it was made with purple cabbage. Â +2 pretty points.
Ordering cheese fries was a great call. Â Instead of oozing ballpark-esque, sodium enriched crappy cheese over the fries (which I was half expecting), they sprinkled shreds of cheddar and monterey jack cheese over the fries and heated til the cheese got warm and oozey. Â Yummeh.
The garlic bread was also better than expected, a perfect balance between the butter and garlic and toasted just enough that the ends were crispy but the bread remained soft.
