A warm summer night on the back porch is nothing short of amazing.  If you like mixed drinks, they are the best here.  Service is always  professional, there when you need them  and no hovering.  The menu is small, but all of the dishes are wonderfully prepared often with a touch of heat.  The downside is not enough seafood and maybe a little updating for those of us who have spent a number of summers on that back porch.
Review Source:One of the highlights of our Adirondack summer is the weekend that "The Owl" opens for the season (usually the fist week of July). The restaurant offers a wonderful combination of Adirondack charm, a creative but unpretentious menu, a very nice list of moderately priced "bistro" wines, and the opportunity to spend an evening with one of the nicest staffs you will find in these parts (starting with the owners - Rich and Joanne). I should also mention that Joanne makes - without question - the best martini in the Adirondacks. Open ten weeks each year, and not to be missed. On my list of Adirondack Favorites.
Review Source:Outstanding "foodie" restaurant, certainly the best we've visited in the Adirondacks over 20 years of coming up. Â Creative dishes, good wine list. Â Excellent romantic spot or place to take friends for a special occasion. Â Intimate, elegant up-north ambience without the snooty factor that some places adopt. Â Truly a best-kept secret, hiding in the middle of nowhere.
The only negative: their season is too short (just July and August this year, and we don't usually come up until early October). Â If you're up in the summer, don't miss this place.
