This is a fairly general sports bar, it's a prime location for business and their menu fare, since there is nothing else to compare in the small town of Erie. I have to say the meal was ok, I ordered the Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon. The bacon was absolutely delicious, yet the mac & cheese was lacking in flavor, so the combination didn't mesh as well as perceived when I ordered it. The margaritas were tasty but there didn't seem to be any alcohol in them. The prices seemed high, but when I saw the portion size, it was comprable. The staff was attentive, quick with service and kind at the end of the night/close of business to let me and my friend hangout after we ate but still were catching up. The downside or why I most likely would not return was that in the last 10 minutes of my stay I saw a mouse, a healthy sized one at that. I thought at first my eyes weren't seeing clearly and the little guy made a return pass. He was in and around the bar area of the restaurant, which concerned me since the opening to the kitchen was just a 10 foot distance away. I had thought that the bartender had caught a glimpse of the mouse to, since it ran in front of her while she was cleaning out the back of the bar, but she didn't react surprised.
Review Source:I want to like this place, I really, really do. Â It is a great location for me, it has lots of TVs, a great patio and an amazing view.
The problem is it fails at nearly every turn.
The food is OK, but not great. Â
The service we have had is generally friendly, but they make a lot of mistakes.
The deck is great, but the last time we were there, there were several mice. Â
The lay out of the bar is pretty cool, but the customer base has a tendency to be less than desirable
They have several beers on tap, but they are all pretty boring, which in such a great beer area, it is disappointing.
It is local, and I want to support local places, but every time I leave, I am not dying to come back. Â It is better than lots of other places, like Parkway Grill, which is HORRIBLE, and it is better than the Benchwarmers place that was there before it, but every time I leave I can't help but feel it should have been better.
Please get better.
Burnt burger, mushy pulled pork, runny, mashed potatoes, underdone chicken and the worst bloody mary I have had in my life. Â It has been years since I ate at the Lazy Dog in Boulder, but I always liked their food, even if overpriced. Â The overpriced part carried over to this Erie location but the quality did not. Â Perhaps the Boulder location is terrible now too, I won't be finding out. Â If you're looking for a place to eat, I'd advise you to keep looking. Â If you are looking for a place to have a beer or two, Â catch a game and aren't on a budget, this place is adequate. Â I could rate it higher than one star for this reason, but two stars just seems too high due to the overpriced, almost inedible cuisine and the horrible bloody mary eliminates any temptation to rate this place any higher.
