I got the Lawyer. Â Smoked turkey, bacon, pepper jack with Russian dressing. It is a panini and the bread had great texture, you can taste a hint of the olive oil the bread is basted with. I could have used a little extra dressing but I'm a sauce guy, so I won't complain too much. Also, I ordered a sweet tea to go and the cup is a hefty party cup, definitely not a fan of the cups. Â I don't have a panini maker at home so until my wife buys this for me for a Christmas present...hint....hint! Â I will continue to go to Lee's but will buy a drink elsewhere. Â I would have given four stars if I didn't receive my drink order in a party cup.
Review Source:I'm so glad that Amherst finally has a deli. Â Now that Lee's is here I don't have to drive all the way to Lynchburg to get a decent sammich. Â The "convict" is by far the best thing on the menu.
Five of us all tried something different and all of us were happy with our choices.
They offer a few suggested sandwiches but you can also build your own. Â Each sandwich comes with homestyle chips and a pickle.
This is a new Deli in Amherst and so far we are hooked ! They serve Boars Head meat and cheeses on their sandwiches...yumm yumm ... ! They also have breakfast,  pastries, wraps and salads. I have been twice so far and the second experience was far better than the first. The first visit we got the breakfast platter with eggs, bacon fried potatoes and a biscuit. The potatoes were great. It is hard to mess up breakfast. Their breakfast casserole left something to be desired, it had no taste as all despite its many ingredients. The second visit we tried the sand. I got the Bailiff..... Reuben  twas outstanding and hubby got the Convict.. roast beef  with Munster and horseradish  yummy as well. The place is super clean and staff are extremely nice. We will revisit many times !!
