Service is always hit or miss.  I was a Single woman sitting at the bar and pretty much ignored all night by the Bartender.  Some of the bartenders are downright rude.  Food is always inconsistent.  Sometimes real good and other times awful ordering the same thing.  Pizza sucked tonight.  Tasted and looked like a frozen Totinos pizza.  I thought it was me so my husband tried it after the game and said the exact same thing before I could even say anything.  It was the small personal pizza.  Week before it was great.  It was like a totally different thing.  Chicken wings while at one time were the best in the area failed miserably last week.  So over cooked and dried out could not eat them.  Sent them back.  You couldn't even get a fork into them.  Waitresses and bartenders are more concerned about closing early and socializing than providing service to paying customers.  So disappointing for a real promising concept. Beer is cold but often pricing is whatever the  tenders think they can charge you. Work on the service and get some cooks that care and you may have something.  Friends of the waitstaff should be disallowed from social hour when there is a room full of waiting tables.  I would say service and slow inconsistent food are the biggest issues here.  Got served raw chicken on 4-21-13.
I read that is place is part owned by a former Red Wing. Â How disappointing that they aren't aware of what goes on up there. Â I am at the rink probably 3-4 nights a week and many of those nights we end up at Legends just out of convenience, but I swear one of these times I am going to call the manager out for the crappy service.
My daughters and I have been planning on trying Legends for a while now. Â One day couldn't go because they had no power....another day they closed early why I'm not sure. Â Anyway, went today after their dance class. Â Liked all the flat screens....my girls and I were able to watch the olympics while we ate. Â There was a pool table, fuse ball and a couple other games which the kids liked. Â
Only 7 people in the restaurant (including the 3 of us). Â Took quite a while to get out food considering the place was empty. Â The young lady who was our waitress did check on us frequently to see if we needed anything, which I appreciate. Â However, my daughter's cup came to the table with a hole in the side and it took her quite a while to bring my girl a new one. Â
I ordered the Cashew Chicken Salad. Â Menu said it was a mixed green salad and yet it was made with just iceberg. Â Also a little scant with the cashews. Â I really enjoyed the combination of the swiss cheese, bacon and nuts on the salad. Â Also ordered the boneless chicken wings. Â Two of the "wings" were not much bigger than the diameter of quarter and all were very overcooked and dry. Â My daughter's both got the kid's chicken tenders and fries which was just average. Â Their meal didn't even include chocolate milk (kid's meals only include soda-which I am not a fan of). Â
Overall I was fairly disappointed and our meal was definitely not worth the $35 tab....the salad alone was $11. Â I will go back once more during a dinner service (there is an expanded dinner menu) and post my updated rating. Â Hopefully service will be faster and the food better, otherwise I will not be back.
Wow- I wish I lived closer to this sports bar, Legends 1926. I don't drink much- I go there for the delicious food! Â Legends 1926 is a spacious restaurant and bar located on the upstairs level of the Kennedy Recreational Center in Trenton, MI. It is between the two ice rinks and you can see down into the ice rinks from the restaurant. They have flat screen televisions ALL OVER the place with the current ball games on. It is very family friendly with many tables and some games for the kids to play while they wait to get food.
I have been there 4 times now and have had both great service and not so hot service. It seems as though it gets better each time I go, but one thing stays the same- the food is delicious and I guarantee you will be wanting to revisit after you taste the food. I have brought family there with me and everyone likes it. My personal favorite is the pasta primavera "vegan style" with the salad & cherry vinaigrette dressing. YUM! I have had the homemade chips & salsa as well and I love that!
I speak for about 15 other people who have tried the burgers, fries, steaks, and pizza who all really enjoyed everything. Bring the kids for pizza for sure!
A former Red Wing is part owner of this place and I think it's a great idea to get some hockey players up there to sign autographs like they do at Jay's Sports Bar and Restaurant in Southpointe, PA where the Pittsburgh Penguins practice. It's the same premise and that place is always packed in.
It's a newer establishment, so it is still extremely clean and the bathrooms are spacious and nice. The cooks are awesome! Once they get all of their waitstaff on board, this place is going to be the bomb.
Ps. GET SOME GUINNESS!
