I was so impressed the other day. The food quality has improved, and we had very lovely, informed, attentive service. I truly enjoyed the crab melt sliders -- perfect size, consistency and the sauce volume was just right. Hubby liked his burger. I hope the food quality stays at this improved leve and Legends starts adding some more inventive sides such as sweet potato fries, greens etc. Homemade salad dressing (tasted bottled) would help --and maybe some cushions for the outdoor metal chairs? Nevertheless, for the price, the ambiance, the view, the nice cold beers and the improvement in both food quality and service, Legends gets a 4-star from me for my favorite neighborhood joint. Better experience than some local places with $15 burgers.

Tonight we had great service, could not fault it, had two guys doing all they could to look after many tables and doing it courteously and professionally, some people left without being served as they could see the wait ahead of them -  but oh what a terrible waste of a great place. Food mediocre at best, selection so-so, wine choice appalling given where we live in Sonoma, beer choice OK- but when you have a chain running things this is what you get.  On a nice day/spring or summer evening a balcony to die for lovely views, music some nights, cannot beat it but they need to take this place up a few notches to bring in line with its location and also realize its potential. Its should be gold mine but don't fool yourselves it's just pyrite

Me and some friends came to watch the game, my friends told me this was a great place to watch the game fun great beer selection good pub food, the only thing the bar service was terrable.. We sat and watched the game and left shortly to go downtown. Too bad really wanted to like this place. Lighting was way to bright. Took forever to get drinks.

This is one of the best sports bar I've ever hung out in!  I love going here when I really want to catch a sporting event, or want a casual night out with good food. The staff have an awesome laid back attitude, with no rush to get you out the door.  I enjoyed their summer Grilin' and Chillin' music series, and hope they find a way to do something similar during the rest of the year as well.  Happy hour food and drink specials are plentiful, and they also have a 2 for $22 menu that's worth a look.

This is the best bar walking distance for us, they have good pub food too. their wraps are actually really good, healthy and plenty big to share. they have 1/2 bottled wine every tues so its actually same price as the store. they play all the sports all the time so its easy to get the guy down there for some food&drinks. fun to sit outside when they have bands, nice to sit inside and watch the golfers. also really nice to just walk the couple of holes home, dodging the skunks along the way.

Happy Hour 4 - 6 pm on the outside patio, live music, views of the 18th Green, sunsets on the rolling hills, over 12 flat screens for sports afficanado's, fast service, good food, and great drinks.  Legends has just about everything for those looking for a casual, fun atmosphere to relax.  Perfect for after golf or after work. Try the fish tacos or mile-high nachos.  Service is prompt and attentive.

Love the outdoor seating! Very beautiful setting. Food is decent. Wait staff could use a little hep. Didn't come up and ask us once how the meal was a never came back to ask if we wanted refills. Sad part is wasn't even busy at all. I'm hoping we just got a bad server... Will have to go back and try again.

Indeed, Legends has changed and very much for the better.  Could not be more pleased and grateful at the same time.  I would encourage everyone to visit and see for yourself it's all good. Paid my first return visit this last Sunday June 17th.  Didn't ask about anything, just found a seat. Our waiter Shawn (same gentleman from last time) came by our table and same as before he was very courteous and welcoming.  I called him a "waiter dude" last time but that's only because he's half my age and has it together. Watched the last few holes of the US Open and the the NBA Finals.  Food was great.  Service was impeccable.  Father's Day atmosphere was down home.  Everything about our visit worked really well.  Was fully prepared to pay for the meal. Didn't know if there would be a voucher waiting but there was.  Left a tip and will be sure to return.  Thank you Shawn, thank you Neil (new Mgr) and most especially Angela (Owner) for caring.

Legends presents longtime Bennett Valley regulars with a real Catch-22.

It's the clubhouse restaurant at the golf course where I spent half of my childhood, as well as a pretty sizeable chunk of my adult life. It's a place where I have a lot of fond memories and still enjoy spending time with my friends and family.  However, since its transition from a dim lit dive bar in a decrepit old building to an ultra-generic clubhouse restaurant, it has continuously fallen short of expectations (granted I do have high expectations for Bennett Valley establishments) and is sadly falling off my radar for places to eat close to home.

I feel as though the most frustrating part about Legends is the potential is has to be a true Santa Rosa gem.  Its facilities and location are as wonderful as one can find at any city-owned golf course, and the building itself is beyond what any of us BV bums could have imagined a decade ago.  It seems like an ideal place to meet up with a couple buddies and watch the game since they have a plethora of nice TV's with all the sports packages you could ask for, to go along with their full bar.  With that being said, the food and the service have been 100% forgettable from the moment that Legends opened.  I can't speak to the quality of the ingredients they use in their food, but I know that when it comes out of the kitchen, it tastes like dry, pre-frozen pub fare garbage.  Burgers lack juiciness and flavor, the appetizers are the antonym of fresh, and the folks who work there always seem incredibly disinterested from anything having to do with their job.  If you order the onion rings appetizer, they'll bring out the undersized order on some fancy hanger display to distract you from the fact that you're eating the most amazingly average onion rings available.  Not horrible, but definitely not great, like I said, forgettable.

The root of all the problems at Legends began when the city of Santa Rosa decided to outsource the restaurant's operations to a company that ran a few other mediocre clubhouse restaurants in the Bay Area.  GREAT IDEA! Take a unique restaurant in the middle of an affluent residential neighborhood, occupied by people who know and love good food, and use it to create the absolute most average bar and grill in Santa Rosa.

NOTE TO LEGENDS and the city of Santa Rosa: There are thousands of people with sizeable wallets who live within walking distance of your restaurant that are simply looking for somewhere to eat some decently fresh food and enjoy a pleasant meal.  You are being way too closed minded in trying to cater only to those playing golf, and neglecting your obligation to the rest of the residents in Bennett Valley by occupying a great restaurant space with a sub-par business (pun most certainly intended).  Which leads me to one last thing, who the hell thought it was a good idea to play live music on the patio of a GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE?!?!  I enjoy live music as much as the next guy, but picking the one place within 2 miles where the majority of the people inhabiting that space prefer peace and quiet is a complete amateur move.  Do yourselves a favor and keep the quasi-talented, middle-aged musicians inside from now on and leave the people on golf course and veranda alone.

I have been going to Legends for the past few years.  Love that it is walking distance from home.  Love the scenery from their expansive deck.  Love LOVE love their burgers.  Love their (everyday) Happy Hour Specials.  My only qualm over the past few years has been on again/off again service.  HOWEVER I want to send some kudos their way.  My most recent visit I received EXCEPTIONAL service from Nick.

I live in the area, and really would like to recommend this place, but I can't. Numerous visits have rarely produced a enjoyable experience. Service has almost always been spotty at best. Recently I have made several more visits.  Twice,  I had fast and attentive service. Both times by a bartender/server named Whitney. The other times, not good at all. Recently on a Saturday, I was one of only two tables being used. I waited over seven minutes to be "greeted". While eating (food okay) I finished my drink and put it out for refill. After many minutes, I finally had to bring it to the server's attention. Only two tables occupied and two people at the bar and no one is paying attention? Really poor effort. Maybe they can post their server schedule, so customers can see when Whitney is working.  Otherwise, prepare to be disappointed.

I've been back twice since my review and I must say that the service has turned a full 180 degrees. The bartender and wait staff went above and beyond their job with warmth and smiles. Even though the party I was with thoroughly enjoyed the $4.99 weekday breakfast, I still feel there is room for improvement in regards to the food. The $4.99 breakfast was a basic breakfast (2 eggs, hash browns and bacon or sausage) which I feel is hard to screw up, but I ordered the pancakes which ended up being spongy and bland as if they had been under the heat lamp since 7:00am and served to me upon my arrival at 10:15am. I want so badly to be a regular at this place for breakfast and dinner, but for now it will only be for drinks, music and once in awhile an appetizer with the hope of being pleasantly surprised. The 3 starts are supported by the staff, amenities and ambiance.

Part of the wise investment the City of Santa Rosa made to Bennett Valley Golf Course a few years ago came in the form of the construction of the new clubhouse built from the ground up now called "Legends at Bennett Valley." It is a beautiful facility in a beauty setting. The atmosphere is great: the restaurant - sports bar is open and airy and features floor to high ceiling window which overlook the golf course and features plenty of large screen TV's. The outdoor patio ambiance is peaceful and scenic and offers live music during the warmer spring and summer months.

As Lisa P. indicated below this place does truly have great potential and could be the place to go in Bennett Valley. Sadly, however it is not the case. Both the food and the service are poor, but more so the food in my opinion. It's a great place to go for a drink, and every time I do go and order something from the uninspired menu I keep hoping the food has gotten better. Unfortunately it has never changed or improved which speaks of weak management. I'm bummed because this place has so much potential and could be so good. In my experience Legends at Bennett Valley could use another major overhaul, only this time from the inside out.

The owner/manager was in contact with me and she said they are getting new red wine glasses.  They have also upgraded the wine list (which I noticed) and will be giving generous 7 oz. pours in glasses you can swirl without staining your favorite shirt.
Go here, drink wine and eat.

Well I have enjoyed my previous times because of one tall and beautiful waitress. Who cares about customer service.  But unfortunately tonight I got to witness a  manager who's customer service was to poor for a drive in for window in a bad part of town. I watched him walkout and look at me and sigh and roll his eyes because he had to deal with a disputed check. As if I understood his problem. Before he was going to speak to the  woman about a disputed check in a way to draw public attention to the situation. He was classless. A poor person to represent  business.

I had been there before for Easter brunch and everything was great. Unfortunately this year was the opposite. Service was poor, food was cold, and the Manager was rude.  We even spoke to him about the service and nothing was done. I hate to say this but we will probably never go back.

    This is for the restaurant/bar.

Food is decent but they have an amazingly cheap happy hour.  beer and meals for $5 is ok in my book.  Pork sliders were pretty good.  You get 3 on a plate for $5 plus good selection of beers on tap.
