If you find yourself hungry in Bullard, your choices are pretty limited. Legends or the nasty Tex-Mex joint on 69.
Legends is your old town eating experience. You place your burger order at the counter, then fill your own drink and wait for your name to be called.
I ordered the stuffed jalapeno burger based on fellow Yepler's reviews. I found it just "OK." It was a full 1/2 pound burger. For those with a smaller appetite, get the Jr. size. The onion rings were sweet and thickly cut slices that were not to my liking. The free pinto beans were excellent. Better than momma makes.
The people were friendly and the place was clean, but at the end of the day, it's just a burger.
I was driving through town with my wife and kids; we and decided to stop here for a burger based on the reviews. Â I was a little disappointed. However, that could have easily been our fault since nobody ordered a stuffed burger and all of the great reviews are on the stuffed burger.
The regular burgers are ok.
The fries are pretty good.
I liked the ambiance and the staff was very friendly.
Over all it was a great experience if I could disregard the fact that I was a bit disappointed in the burger itself.
This was a surprise. Great local place, great burgers, onion rings, and fries. I had the burger stuffed with jalapenos and onions and it was one of the better burgers I've ever had.
Bullard is a small out of the way town in Smith County. I'd go out of my way to return. Nice small town feel, too. Friendly folks, too.
Good hamburger, a little on the salty side but still good. I really like the fact that your order comes out plain and you get to dress it yourself so you get just the right amount of all the veggies and dressings. Onion rings are pretty good (they're sweet like a cornmeal and pancake batter) but nothing to get excited about... I recommend either the fried chicken sandwich, chicken strips, or the jalepeno stuffed burger...
