Smoky bar, but the best steak in town! Get steak cocktail with sweet & spicy sauce!

I've been to Leon's Steakhouse several times and it has gotten better every time I've gone there.

The steak and chicken appetizer was excellent. I had the the Angus ribeye and it was as good as any ribeye I've had anywhere. The sides were excellent.

I left wondering why I don't come here more often. The smoking and the fact that you can't take kids probably is the biggest drawback but if you're in the mood for a really good steak and don't mind wafting through the smoke, you're in for a treat!

    Smiley face.

Leon's is more of a bar but a bar that has great food. It is 18+ I am pretty sure. They have really good steaks, chicken fried steaks, and good burgers. Gets really crowded at lunch, but it is worth the wait. Very casual.

Beer Maidens serve everything promptly and the Food is prepared onsite. This is THE OILFIELD'S Bar and Grill. Lunch is always good, but get there before Noon if you want a table. Smoking still allowed here too. Thanks to the Simmons Family for this Landmark!!!

Was in the mood for steak, and recommended by the front desk guy at the hotel. I walked in and the country/bar had on Charlie Daniels band on the juke box. Kind of reminded me of that bar on tru blood. After looking thru the menu, I decided on Leon's favorite rib eye.  Once it arrived it looked really good, medium grilled, juicy and tender. The steak was awesome! The wait staff was on the ball and offered refills at the right time. Good place to hang out and have a beer or dinner. Smoking indoors was allowed if you mind it.

Burger was decent, not phenomenal, but not too bad.  A solid 3.
My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and said it was pretty good.
The service was a bit off.  Took a long while to get our drinks, and then a side of fried mushrooms never came out until we asked.  Our server blamed it on the fact that there was another server there with the same name as hers.  She had to go back and have the side order made up, arriving with it as we were nearly finishing our entrees.  No offer to comp it or anything else, just "here you go".
Not a bad place to eat, maybe we got a rookie.
Also, smoking is allowed inside this place, so if that's an issue for you, be prepared.

I was in Longview this past weekend and I actually stopped by Leon's both nights I was in town. The first visit was Friday night before we went out on the town to see what Longview had to offer (not much, but there were a TON of strip clubs to my surprise). We were advised to go to Leon's when I asked the lady at the hotel where I could get a good steak. We had dinner there and I was happy with the choice. The steak ($18) was cheap compared to Dallas' typical $45 for a ribeye. The grill master served up a couple of perfectly cooked steaks. Staff was very friendly and somewhat helpful/attentive. The second trip (Saturday night) was a late night venture (12:40am) just to grab a couple beers close to the hotel before actually calling it a night. They had a live band playing, but we only caught the last song. The girl behind the bar wasn't very attentive at all. She would walk by me and my empty beer glass until I politely waved her down and asked for another beer. She almost acted like it was bother to serve us a beer (everyone has a bad night, maybe this was her turn). I could care less about a good attitude as long as you keep a beer in front of me! :) The crowd was a good mix. There were a few good looking girls there too. Next time I'm in town I will go again for sure. They only sell beer, but do allow you to bring your own liqour.

A sign on the door said "21 and Up".

I was starting to think that a decent steak was not to be had in Longview.  This place serves up a satisfying ribeye for $18, including two sides.  I opted for fried okra, and twice baked potato.  The twice baked was more like baked potatoes mashed up with the twice baked stuff, and then put in a dish like potatoes au gratin and cooked again.  Was expecting to see a restuffed baked potato.  Oh well, was still pretty good.  Fried okra was solid, but not outstanding.  Cooked my steak to right doneness, and $7 pitchers of Shiner Bock to wash it down with.  It is indeed very casual, but I will take that over snobby any day of the week.
