Lighthouse Pointe Restaurant & Bar

Very fun spot to come have a drink at the bar on the deck overlooking the marina. Live music plays on most nights too. I've also been here for dinner one time which was fabulous. The clams casino are so good! Best I've had in Wildwood--or maybe all of New Jersey for that matter!

If you want good seafood, come to Lighthouse Pointe.  Last time I ate here, I had their crab bisque soup and salmon.  Other members of my family had the house salad, prime rib, chicken parmagiana, mahi-mahi, fried flounder, and chicken.  

The crab bisque soup is the best that I've ever had -- it actually tastes like crab.  All the food is very fresh, and the restaurant makes sauces for each entree which are delicious.  The house salad had way too much parmesan cheese on it, but I don't judge restaurants based on salad.

Lighthouse Pointe is located on Shawcrest Island, which is part of Wildwood, but on the marshland off Route 47 near the Wildwood Welcome Center.  The restaurant has plenty of parking, an outdoor bar, and live entertainment outside almost every night in the summer.

My family ate here for the first and last time tonight.  The menu looked interesting, although not unique in any way.  At least it didn't seem to be fried food.  However, everything from the bread to the entree were mediocre in quality and taste.  I had the tilapia with a tomato, olive topping that sounded interesting. It turned out to be terrible.  The fish was dry and tasteless so that even scraping off the terrible topping didn't help.  The house salad was a lot of iceberg lettuce with the dressing (which tasted like bottled) was non-existent on some salads and drenching others.  I would not have minded the prices had the food been good but as it was it was very over-priced.

The server was not particularly good although he did make an effort to accommodate our requests.  The house wine was horrendous and seemed to be the only one available by the glass.

I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.
