I've been eating Lippy's BBQ since they were smoking in their driveway and still can't get enough. I'm there weekly and we even had them cater our wedding. The ribs are meaty, tender, and flavorful. The pork and chicken are so moist and smokey. The brisket is probably my favorite. Just amazing food done right by amazing people.

This place has unbelievable food. The owners truly are masters of their craft, as the food never ceases to amaze me on how good this bbq really is. I live in Malcolm and have brought the food on many occasions to people in Lincoln, who all have had nothing but good things to say about this place. Great service from great people. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Also is gluten free friendly, for those who  need it.

My suggestions= Brisket-so-Gouda (this is crazy good!) Chicky-Wow-Wow, Turkey Bacon Club, Ribs, Mac-N-Chees... I guess I could just list the whole menu.....

Oh and I've noticed they now serve their food in baskets, so Tom D. you might be able to bump up your rating a bit Sir..... 2 star??? C'mon... Are you aware there is "award winning bbq" served in Kansas City on wax paper..... oh the nerve!

Yelp... Stop filtering my reviews... c'mon!

This place is hit and miss as far as how good the ribs are. When the ribs are done the same day..they are awesome. However I can also tell when they are left over's and have been warmed up from the day before.  Love the ribs on the days they are made fresh.

I had heard good things in other reviews about Lippy's BBQ so I thought I'd give it a try.  I'm a bit of a rib rack foodie and I'm always hunting for great BBQ.  I was excited to try the place.  The ownership has done a nice job of creating an inviting exterior and interior with the red/white color scheme and the emphasis on blues so common to BBQ joints.  I would have liked the music to carry the theme further with a little Blues rather than pop and country - but it is in a small Nebraska town so I'm guessing they know what the locals like.

The owner gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and quickly handled our order.  My colleague and I both ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs with a side of baked beans.  Everything is served in styrofoam boxes or bowls - not my favorite option when you're dining in.  I'd have rather seen the ribs served in a basket (even a cardboard one) which would have made for a much more attractive and appealing dining room presentation.  The styro boxes make it look like everything is "to-go".  And they're just ugly too.

The Ribs:  Good, meaty, nicely smoked, and just the right tenderness.  However, the rub was far too sweet and too thick for my tastes or the tastes of my colleague.  We think it's primarily a brown sugar and ground coffee based rub.  It needed more heat, less sweatness, and more acidity.  So in summary, the ribs were great but the rub made them below average.

The Baked Beans:  Overcooked, mushy, and kind of tasteless.  They did have jalepeno, brisket, and onion in them but no real mouthwatering taste that made you want the next spoonful more than the last.

Summary:  I'm sure these are the best ribs in Malcolm and I've seen others rate them highly.  But for two fairly experienced rib aficionados they don't measure up to the better ribs of the Lincoln, Nebraska area such as Phat Jack's, Paul's Old Fashioned, and Parker's Rib Ranch.  Tone down the sugar and spice up the taste - that's award winning BBQ.  This isn't.

Best barbecue around. Well worth the 10 mile drive from Lincoln. Famous Dave's will not be getting my business anymore. Lippy's has the best ribs. The sides are awesome and so is the chicken. If you have not tried Lippy's now is the time.
