The food at LIT is absolutely amazing. Â The fish tacos are excellent, slightly spicy but taste fresh and crisp. Â The LIT salad is beautifully presented and the prosciutto wrapped asparagus is pairing excellently with a lemon vinaigrette. Â All three of the flat bread pizzas are uniquely hand made and all delicious. Â The sangria is not overwhelming and mixes together red wine, liquor and juices very well. Â All the food and drinks are reasonably priced and the portion sizes are quite large. Â Not only is the food exquisite but the ambiance is calming and elegant. Â Perfect for date night or even a night out with friends. Â The music pairs perfect with the food and the lightening adds to the ambiance. Â You will leave felling satisfied and wanting to come back again!
Review Source:I was just in Amherst visiting an old college friend of mine and he took me here one night. Boy was I impressed, I especially loved the friendly environment that the workers and owners provide. It felt like I was at my favorite bar at home in Pasadena, Â the decor was top notch and the drinks were great! I didn't have enough time to try some of their food items (which my friend said was also good) but hopefully Ill be in the area in the near future and will def make another visit! great job guys!!
Review Source:Meh, tries to be classier than it is. Don't have beer on tap, but proudly displays Jameson in the top shelf. Really sir? When did our ole' Irish sailor turn classy? Is that all you got?
But...
A rather nice change from the crunchy granola and Fratty bars of Amherst. I was impressed by their interior design. The sound system could use a little tuning--please turn down your highs, and turn up the mid range. Â
Also, I gotta warn than this place is a potential magnet for fist pumping.
This place has quickly become one one of my favorite establishments in Amherst. On any given night my bar scene tends to alternate between Lit, Stackers, and McMurphies. I find myself gravitating towards Lit more often as the wine selection is larger than the other bars.
The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly fun people who love to have a good time and hence know how to show others a good time.
The dinner and lunch selection is fantastic. I've eaten here many times and whatever I try is great.
Inside the decor is upscale. This is one of the few places where you can find bottle service during the night time. The lighting, sound system, and fixtures are all top of the line and truly offer a unique experience in Amherst.
I'd highly recommend trying this place!
Lit's $7 menu provides a very quick and easy way to get your lunch. As it stands right now, it is Amherst's little secret because not many people know about it yet. Fine by me, no wait for lunch!
The down side is that it is only available from 11-3.
The staff is ridiculously friendly.
I had the steak tips lunch with the fries. The fries are unique. They are soft, so if you don't like soft fries, it won't be your cup of tea, go for the salad. But they are delicious.
I've also tried the truffled fries at one point, and while I appreciate the taste, I find the regular fries to be much better for me.
Lamb Sliders from the dinner menu were delicious. They were slighly burnt, so definitely ask for less well done if you don't like it like that.
Back to my steak tip lunch (I'm typing as I'm eating, so I wanted to give it some time).
I like it. I'm not wowed, but it definitely hits the spot. The yogurt sauce with it really makes it a unique lunch. Would be interesting if they added a hint of herbs in it with the lettuce.
Overall - very full for a $10 lunch (it's $7, but don't forget tip ;)).
Can't wait to try the rest of their offerings!
Oh - as I likely won't write another review - let's talk about the club.
The line - can be long sometimes, but they security folk are top notch people. Once you get in, the place is usually packed. They did away with a lot of the expensive covers, but when they did charge me a cover, the place was worth it.
I've met with a lot of the promoters and they seem to really want to get the place going.
The decor is extravagant. They have an indoor waterfall! The lightshow during clubbing hours is not half bad either. It can get hot in there when it gets busy though. I consider that a good thing in the cold Amherst nights.
As I'm wrapping up this review - wow, that yogurt sauce...
Happy eating!
One of a kind venue in Amherst. Â Elegant Decor and excellent ambiance.
This place is a restaurant and lounge/dance club. Â I went there for dinner with a group of friends and we were well taken care of from the minute we got there. Â That night, they had a live Jazz trio performing, which was amazing to have while we ate. Â
The menu has a collection of delicious appetizers, so we tried them all. Â For dinner, I had the lamb sliders...and ohh boy..they were moist and yummy. Â My friend loved his Steak Frites..it was cooked perfectly.
After dinner, the tables are removed and the DJ took over. Â The music was awesome and everyone was dancing. Â The bartenders were quick and super nice...and they made some really good drinks. Â
Overall, it was a fun night...good food, good drinks, and good music.
