OK.  My previous review was for the sandwiches.  This time I tried two different sandwiches, Thanskgiving Day (turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce) and Pulled Pork BBQ and both were tremendously good. Every ingredient from bread to roasted turkey is fresh and made from scratch.  Loved it.  Whatever BBQ sauce they had on the other sandwich was just the right amount of smoky and sweet.  Now on to one thing I didn't have a chance to try.  Their pies.  I had a cherry pie that was just heaven in a pie pan.  Thin, crispy, flaky crust with a sweet/sour cherry pie filling and a light dusting of granulated sugar on top.  This pie just shot to number 1 in my list of favorite pies in the DC Metro Area.  The past visits I have always wanted to try a pie, but there case has been empty each time.  And now know why, these babies are so good that they better be popular.  Tops all around.  If your in the Aldie area, stop by or you will regret it later.  A pro tip:  If there is a particular pie you want, I would order a day ahead.  Its a small family operation and so there is not a huge amount of inventory in the cases.  I've missed getting a pie the last several times I dropped by as they were plain sold out.  They also do special order cakes as well.  While there, don't forget to pick up a sandwich before you leave.  Mmmm...tasty!   The place is carryout only.

Husband and I stopped by this place over the summer to have a mid-day snack...
When we got to Little Apple's, it was around 1 pm and the town was really closed for lunch.  We spoke to the baker and she explained that the shop runs on a flex schedule depending on what sells out on that day.  They evidently have a "regular" clientele... when we were there the town's priest and nearby workers all came in to grab a quick bite and pies.

We had their veggie sandwich and also the turkey or chicken sandwich... it was really good. Tasted homemade!!  While I'd be careful with going there at the right time and when it's open,  I would definitely come back for their pies and lunches :-).

The service is fantastic and the food is excellent. The turkey is so tender and sweet! Bring your wallet though. I think city folk are charged a bit extra. I once paid $3 for a 12 oz coffee -- bland Maxwell House. Hey, I was desperate!
