OK.  My previous review was for the sandwiches.  This time I tried two different sandwiches, Thanskgiving Day (turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce) and Pulled Pork BBQ and both were tremendously good. Every ingredient from bread to roasted turkey is fresh and made from scratch.  Loved it.  Whatever BBQ sauce they had on the other sandwich was just the right amount of smoky and sweet.  Now on to one thing I didn't have a chance to try.  Their pies.  I had a cherry pie that was just heaven in a pie pan.  Thin, crispy, flaky crust with a sweet/sour cherry pie filling and a light dusting of granulated sugar on top.  This pie just shot to number 1 in my list of favorite pies in the DC Metro Area.  The past visits I have always wanted to try a pie, but there case has been empty each time.  And now know why, these babies are so good that they better be popular.  Tops all around.  If your in the Aldie area, stop by or you will regret it later.  A pro tip:  If there is a particular pie you want, I would order a day ahead.  Its a small family operation and so there is not a huge amount of inventory in the cases.  I've missed getting a pie the last several times I dropped by as they were plain sold out.  They also do special order cakes as well.  While there, don't forget to pick up a sandwich before you leave.  Mmmm...tasty!   The place is carryout only.

Husband and I stopped by this place over the summer to have a mid-day snack...
When we got to Little Apple's, it was around 1 pm and the town was really closed for lunch.  We spoke to the baker and she explained that the shop runs on a flex schedule depending on what sells out on that day.  They evidently have a "regular" clientele... when we were there the town's priest and nearby workers all came in to grab a quick bite and pies.

We had their veggie sandwich and also the turkey or chicken sandwich... it was really good. Tasted homemade!!  While I'd be careful with going there at the right time and when it's open,  I would definitely come back for their pies and lunches :-).

The service is fantastic and the food is excellent. The turkey is so tender and sweet! Bring your wallet though. I think city folk are charged a bit extra. I once paid $3 for a 12 oz coffee -- bland Maxwell House. Hey, I was desperate!

Seriously disappointed with this place.  Bought a Specialicious deal for here, and after this, I don't think I'll be using them anymore!

I went out here to attempt to use this deal TWICE.  The first time, I checked online and it says open until 3PM.  No problem, I leave my place at 1:30 with plenty of time.  Show up at 2:15 to an old woman sweeping the floors and a closed sign.  "Oh we started closing down at 2PM about a month ago."  DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU TO CHANGE THE WEBPAGE???

I tell her if I come back the following Tuesday around 1, will she take the deal.  She says yes.  (It wouldn't have expired by then anyways.)

Fast forward one week:  I show up to four men inside painting and a "sorry we're closed until Thursday" sign.

Seriously, I know Aldie is a small town, but this is no way to run a business anywhere.  I don't care how good or bad the food is, I will never know because I'm not bothering to drive back from Annandale AGAIN.

I visited once before several years ago & had something I can't recall (cookie?) that I didn't much care for.  Stopped by today.  Very limited selection of things other than pie.  Had a cinammon bun that somehow tasted a little off - just not right.  Wasn't bad, exactly, but wasn't very good either.  Would have expected friendlier service from a small local business.

Definitely my favorite by far.  Try the Thanksgiving sandwich and you will see why we call it the "crack sandwich". You will be addicted!

Met some friends there for a cup of tea.  The casual atmosphere and the mother/daughter team running the place make it special.  Plan to try the apple pie next time because a sticky bun was calling my name.  It was delicious!

After reading the other reviews on Yelp, we were drooling to try some apple pie here for a mid-afternoon snack.  Upon arrival, we discovered that the shop is closed on Sunday and Monday.  The website does not list the hours, so perhaps they vary.  It's rare that we end up in this area, but I will certainly be in favor of giving the Little Apple Pastry Shop a try if they are open the next time we are.

I love occasional drives through the country and the treasures it can bring.  Heading out to Watermelon Park, I skipped breakfast since I was running a bit behind my self-imposed schedule (which later proved to be for naught).  But when the hunger got the best of me, I finally stopped at the Little Apple Pastry Shop and enjoyed myself.

I got a country ham sandwich - I wanted the biscuits but they were out - and completely enjoyed every bit of it.  It reminded me of my time in Tennessee.  I'm almost tempted to make a weekend trip out there for more desserts but I'll need an excuse to go to Middleburg first.  Get the rise and shine cookies!  You're in for a treat!

The menu isn't cheap BUT it is the best apple pie I've ever eaten and I'll travel all that way to get another one!!!  I bought one just before the lunch rush and it was still warm.  Oh my goodness.

Love it that Mom and daughter are running this place together.  Very special.  Their faces light up when they get compliments and that makes me feel good, too.  A great place for a sisters outing.

Such nice people, good sandwiches, excellent pastries!  Had their Pork BBQ sandwich, Turkey sandwich, Oatmeal Cookie, and Lemon Bar.  All delicious!  They only have a few tables inside but it wasn't crowded when I went.  Highly reccomend for lunch!

    3.5 Stars

    Food we ordered:
    - Blackberry Pie: It was great. The crust was light and crispy and the filling wasn't overly sweet
    - Lemon Bar x 2: My husband LOVED the lemon bar. For me, it was a tad sweet.
    - Cinnamon Roll: It was good, I wished they warmed it up for me before serving. They just served it from the fridge display.
    - Turkey Sand which: THIS was the reason I went. The sandwich was amazing with the turkey, stuffing and cranberry. I was really surprised!

    Service:
    - The ladies were nice to us but you can definitely tell its a place where its very "small town". They knew people by name and had regulars. I'm not sure on how they felt on "outsiders". I'll have to go another time to see.

    Location:
There isn't really any place to eat , So I would take your food to go. If you eat there, they do not allow outside drinks, so be prepared to buy a bottle water or drink. (The only reason I mention this is because I NEVER buy drinks at restaurants. Its the one thing every place over charges you with) .

All in all my husband liked the place and would like to try more of the pies. Like they say on the website, its best to Pre-Order a pie (3 days before) to get a flavor you want.

P.S. The only thing that I didn't like was they didn't itemize my receipt. For all the food listed above + a bottle water cost me $40. I would of like to seen how my money broke down... I felt like it was expensive but that may be just because I didn't see the breakdown

I will update again once we go again. .

The reviewer that said "mean old women and do not use this restaurant" must be on drugs! We go there all the time and the opposite is true! They are the sweetest (unlike reviewer name "Sweetnesss and Light") women you could meet. The food is OUTSTANDING. If you have something to eat there and do not like it I am so confident that I will pay for your meal if was not good.  They have the BEST Thanksgiving sandwich I have ever had.(and I make a mean one too at the holidays) but they make the bread  from scratch and I do not ...so theirs is better. The person that wrote the unfavorable review is malicious! Please no one wants you there any way!  Donna and Allan from Middleburg

Very tasty little bakery.  I stopped by pretty late in the afternoon, so the selection was a little smaller than some of the other reviewers seem to have found.  That said, I like it when bakeries operate that way, because it pretty much guarantees that what they do have was made fresh that day.

The bag of dinner rolls was a good choice, just slap a pat of butter on one and enjoy.  The real knockout was the pumpkin bread pudding.  I'm sure it's not available year round, but man am I glad I stopped in when they had it.  It comes in a plastic tub, and if I hadn't been on the motorcycle I probably would have inhaled all of it on the way home and only had that empty plastic to show my wife.  It's sweet, gooey, and pumpkin-y, so if that's not your thing you should avoid it, but who doesn't love sweet, gooey, and pumkin-y?

Well, they stopped serving breakfast sandwiches, so I never got that toast I was looking for. But that's OK, since now they can focus on the things they do great.

This place is amazing. Everything is fresh and my husband and I had the thanksgiving plate and it was wonderful to have a fresh home cooked meal sitting in front of us. Of course we couldn't resist the pies, I had the caramel apple pie and my husband the peanut butter pie, all was amazing and the price for a slice just could not be beaten! You should totally go here if you want fresh cooked pies, and home cooked meals! I totally forgot to mention the people there are just so sweet and cater do your every need!

Arguably the best apple pie we've ever had!

We heard the slices sell out quickly so to make sure we got a taste, we phoned in an order for a WHOLE Candy Apple Pie baked fresh that morning. So what if that's more than a few slices, who's counting?

Fresh apple, topped with caramel and nuts, you'd think it was going to be way too sweet, but perfect.

Had we known about the freshly made eclairs to order, we would have put in for those as well! That's next on our list along with their homemade ham biscuits!

This is a quaint little pie place that you might miss if you are driving too fast while going through the little town of Aldie, VA.  It is best to simply slow down once you see the sign indicating that you've entered the town of Aldie while traveling due west on 50 (John Mosby Highway) and look for Meetinghouse Ln.

    FOOD:
    - candy apple pie
    - rustic cherry pie
    - dutch apple pie
    - coconut cupcake
    - country ham biscuits
    - Thanksgiving sandwich (roast turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce)
    - bbq pulled-pork platter

Pies are delicious.  The candy apple pie looks sweeter than it really is.  The apple pie filling is not as firm and chunky as other places.  I believe it is cooked first on a stove-top and then filled into the pie.  Some people might prefer pies that have a little more crunch to it.

The food was tasty.  Nothing particularly special, but not too bad.  The sauce on the bbq wasn't too sweet and did not overpower the pulled-pork.  The Thanksgiving sandwich was very good.  A little on the small-side since it only took me about four bites to swallow it (or maybe it was just that good).

    DECOR:  Small, quaint, country.

SERVICE:  Two friendly ladies run the store.  They make pies!  You gotta like them!

COST:  Pies were in the $18~$20 range.  The price of the pies is appropriate for the quality of the pies.

Ever since reading Laura V.'s review of this place - I've tried to make an excuse to stop - my two previous attempts - both times the place was closed.

BUT - I finally arrived today - when they were open. On my way home from Middleburg I pulled in.

I wanted something to go for a little later - I chatted with the two nice ladies who were running the place - I asked if they had any "pot pie" - they did not - apparently you can get this - but you have to let them know 24 hours in advance and they will make them for you. And Omigosh by golly - they have a "Thanksgiving Pie." It's a pie with stuffing for the crust, filled with succulent turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. You also need to pre-order this pie by 24 hours to get one.

So I ordered the "Turkey Lunch Special," a heaping mound of mashed potatoes, moist mouth watering turkey, stuffing, gravy, a roll, and cranberry sauce. I got it to go.

After looking over the menu - I really wanted one of everything to go - one of every pie, one of every quiche, yada, yada, yada!

I got that lunch special home - tossed it in the microwave for one minute to heat it up a bit and WOW! Best damn Turkey I can remember eating in a VERY long time! I hoovered through that like it was nothing! Delicious! Mouthwatering!

There is also a Tea room upstairs - I think reservations are required for the Tea room.

Thank you Laura V. for turning me onto this place. I will be going back! Again! And again! Did I mention again?!

YUM YUM YUM.  YUM YUM YUM.  That's about all I can say through the mouthfuls of the most delicious apple pie I've eaten outside of my mother's kitchen.  Where do I start to describe what a fabulous place this is???

Located in Aldie, VA, just outside of Middleburg, this little bakery would easily be missed if one was doing the speed limit (40 mph) on route 50.  Thankfully, my parents and I were so busy taking in the scenery 6 years ago that we were driving slowly enough to see this little shop just down the street from the Aldie Mill.  Of course it's a bakery, in a small town, so we stop.  Since then, no trip to Middleburg is complete without a stop in to the Little Apple for treats.

Everything is baked fresh daily.  Often, if you get there after noon, you won't find much left.  That's because people in the know stop for the fresh baked goodness soon after the store opens.  We always get the ham biscuits and one of their pies.  My personal favorite is the apple.  Serve it up warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.  YUM-O!!!  The ladies who own the store make a variety of very yummy in your tummy treats - everything is made with love by them.

I stopped with the BF to get a pie while we were out there.  Got the last apple pie of the day.  I'm enjoying it now and it's all mine.  I'd share, but I'm afraid there won't be much left in the near future.  You'll have to stop by there sometime on your weekend day trip to Middleburg.  Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
