Little Caesars Pizza

When a company specializes in $5 cardboard pizza, you really only tend to pay attention to the service. I mean, the food is consistent. It's consistently $5 cardboard pizza, but you're there buying it, so you obviously know what you're getting, and if you're disappointed you have no one to blame but yourself.

Located in a tiny strip mall, this particular franchise opened up when video rental stores were still all of the rage. Situated snugly next to Allegan's premiere video rental store (Movies & More), Little Caesar's was a hopping place on Friday and Saturday nights as the local townsfolk flocked to rent a copy of that feel-good Winona Ryder hit "Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael."

Movies & More is long gone, replaced by a chiropractor and a boarded-up Radio Shack. Little Caesar's is still chugging along though, filling the constant need for $5 cardboard pizzas.

The staff is okay. A mixture of rotating teenage help, shady-looking twenty-somethings and one nice middle-aged woman. My favorite employee is this one woman who has been working there for probably about 4 years, and every time we see her she looks nine months pregnant. It's not that she's fat. She seriously looks pregnant, with skinny chicken legs, and she's always out in the side parking lot, smoking Newports and talking all loud and being Allegan-like.
